new how does this whole thing work?

Hello everyone, ok so how does this work? when i go to deck builder to build a deck it tells me i dont have the cards? so do i have to have cards inorder to make a deck online? or can i pick from a list and play with those cards regardless if i have them or not? idk it seems really confusing to me. im not sure what i need to do in order to play online. because id like to play test with a deck before i go and drop money on them and this seems like the place to build a what if deck play test it then go get the cards u need to make the deck. but when i add the cards in my deck it tells me i dont have the cards in my collection and im not sure on how to get cards so im able to play. Thanks!

you don't have to physically own the cards to play or put cards in a online deck
