Experianced traders need to help newbies

hey im a newbie and me and most other newbies would really aprieciate if experianced traders would help them understande trading and help them so that the trade and future trades can go alot smoother

I agree. I've been on this site for quite a while but have completed no trades because I just haven't been told what it entails. Also, is there any way to identify people based on location? Because postage from Australia to the USA can be quite high...

The only thing I can suggest is to check their profile or ask their location. It is acceptable to not deal overseas if you find it cost prohibitive. Just be clear on this when starting any trades.

As far as making a tracked trade goes, you add what you are going to send, what you are going to get. Set who sends first*. Then the other person accepts it. *Now the person sending first hits an button to note the items sent. The receiver gets the items and does the same to acknowledge reception and sending of the other items.

When in doubt, use a middleman.

I personally prefer to contact the other trader prior to initiating a trade, just to work out the fine details. If you're unsure about how to use the TCO trade system, you can use this initial contact to ask the other trader to set up the trade for you. After the trade is set up, it's only a case of clicking buttons to update the status of a trade.

Also, to avoid any extra costs, make sure to check the quantity of cards you'll be sending to ensure that everything is correct. I once forgot to do this and didn't realise I was supposed to send two copies of a card resulting in a second posting.

Basically you find someone who has cards you want and see if they want to trade with you. If you have cards that they want, they will be more likely to want to trade with you. The person who has the least references typically mails out their cards first so if you are new, you want to make sure you are only trading with people who have good tracked trade history and references. Keeping your wants and haves lists up to date is important and so is sending PMs to people before you initiate trades with them.

In my trades I like to message the other user first before initiating the trade. Always work something out then have either you or the other user send a track trade. Doing a tracked trade is the best and safest way to trade. As for trading overseas I have not yet to do that but it is up to you make that trade if you so desire.
