Hey, I agree that Priest of Titania is a great card. Especially when you team her up with Wirewood Symbiote (I know it's not an elf, but it allows her to use her ability multiple times a turn)or Quirion Ranger. I personally took her out of my deck because it slowed my deck down. I want almost all the Elves I'm my deck to be one drop Elves. That way, I can play all my Elves as fast as I can, as many as I can so that I can drop Craterhoof Behemoth and swing for a lot of damage. Heritage Druid and Nettle Sentinel are Elves, so you can run them in your deck. They make lots of mana and I think they're a faster and better combo than Priest of Titania.

I don't run Wellwisher because it doesn't complement the goal of my deck. My goal is to play one drop Elves that draw cards (with Glimpse of Nature) so I can keep my hand stocked and play more one drops. Then I want to cast Natural Order so I can search my hand for a Craterhoof and swing for the win. I don't feel like Wellwisher helps with that goal, so I don't run it. But if that is how you run your deck, then you should go for it. I like the deck that I saw in that article, and I know it isn't original, but I tend to save my original ideas for EDH. When it comes to Legacy, I like to see what other people run and what has been proven to work.

Anyways, if you're happy with your deck, good job. I would, however, strongly advise you to consider the Heritage Druid and Nettle Sentinel combo. It's a beastly combo.

We will never use non elves in 60 card elf deck creature wise... It is not made for that, it is made for endless mana, endless life, endless combo and it does not stop... EVER. Why you all refuse to use wellwisher (the best life gainer in the game for elves in history, I will add..!) and priest of titania is not used is far beyond me.... I have played elves for years, and you (in that idea) are using non elves to combo, but problem: you cannot get the mana fast enough like you could with priest of titania to bust out a lot of those combos.... I know tis about speed and power and combo, but I REFUSE to play elves in legacy like everyone else... and make a "clone" deck idea... this is my idea, and for your knowledge (not trying to disrespect anyone here, least of all you) I will not play green/black elves in legacy, I play white/green token in EDH with elves and combo... However, that's another deck... I have since modified this deck, and it wins pretty much all matchups against everything.. and I mean everything... All forms, and shapes.... opponents cannot stop the combos from working well, its that powerful.... At the card shop where I go oftentimes, a lot of people are afraid of this deck and do not want to play it.... I do not blame them, for it is that OP... its sooo broke its beyond fair.. but the only thing I would ever consider running if I could actually afford it, is gaea's cradle... That card is about $160 a pop, and we cannot afford even a single card of it.... its more expensive than anything we hav ein our collection alone (one card). I would like to have a few but .... alas, lack of funds ;p I do not play tourney with this, I play casual legacy with this... but I can guarantee you this: this deck (once I made modifications to it) is winning every game I play with it, and that includes multiple and single opponents....of all types..... blue is too slow to keep up with the speed... red is shut down by the joraga warcaller/immaculate magistrate idea.... enough said, my opponents can pretty much get knocked out by this card combo alone. done deal. I am very upset that people are always dissing the most powerful elf cards (arguably) like wellwisher and priest of titania... cannot argue the priest is fast and OP... that is not arguable. I will not follow a preset use for legacy version of elves, for I win with my own ideas, not some deck list online... I will never copy any deck (I believe, respectfully, in being original.) So, in closing, I apologize however others are always dissing our best decks we make and this deck was very very expensive, and very, very hard to make... the pieces are very rare, you see. We run many copies of them, and therefore it was a very pricy deck.

You should really consider running the Heritage Druid and Nettle Sentinel combo. It basically makes up an any Elf Deck. This primer helped me make my Lecacy Elves:

http://www.starcitygames.com/article/29713_The-Ultimate-Guide-To-Elves.html

It's a fantastic primer for Elves. Some of the cards you're running (like Immaculate Magistrate) are too big for Legacy Elf. The only way Elves are good in Legacy is if they are fast.

so true - the board lost a hero when the author left the game - the optimum word here is "game" - its supposed to have some fun attached to it - some of his cards are dark while others are just meant to lighten the environment - Duffy

grazing gladeheart....is alright but lets face it: if you want life gain, id run any day of the century or my whole lifetime for that matter, a play set of Life Burst... We run a deck with 4x of these, and they are so amazing, its not even funny... Other than that, I liked the deck a lot, especially since there are 4x Rhox Faithmender... Those rock.... I love their effect.... I would definitely take out grazing gladeheart (spelling? I forgot how to spell it LOL--my bad) and replace them and one more with a play set of 4x Life Burst(s). Other than that I really like it!! Bravo, as they say in the musical world!!! I am a serious musician, as is my wife irl, so musical terms are kind of our forte so to speak. ;P

Other than previously mentioned counterspell x4, remand x4 I only got one more respectful thing to add which is just amazing in these formats: 4x Brain Freeze. Brain Freeze is a easy to win blue card to combo against others and your spells with, and it definitely is a highly adored card, seeing as it as storming effects ;p I run A.K. and Brain Freeze in our white/blue control deck, and that one is fairly good but still working on improvementsas is the case with any deck..... Just my other thought, Brain Freeze would work quite well in this deck ;p

if Craterhoof Behemoth was actually financially affordable, I would get a pair for this deck, and throw them in but they are outrageously overpriced and bank breaking on a massive scale.

elves Magic: The Gathering In the discussion on the Deck "elves" by dragon9hide United States send message

if youre playing legacy, you should be running: 4x of the following: Wellwisher, priest of titania, defiant elf, timberwatch elf, bloodline shaman, and minimum of 2 of these: joraga warcaller (up to 4 but 2 works!), up to 4x copies of seeker of skybreak (big time requirement, they make combos work well!), 2x heedless ones AT LEAST (4 seems to be overkill with the great elves out there...but I have found that through a lot of games). You also need to cut back on lands, and go with 16 land max... need on top of those: 4x copies of Wirewood Lodge, 4x copies of wirewood herald is usually I have found to be a requirement (these fetch multiple elves you need, and also they make the deck run smoother, for not one opponent wants to have one hit the graveyard...unless they can remove it...hence the power...), 4x copies of elvish pioneer and also you need at least 2-4x copies of Elvish Vanguard... Not to mention, you need to consider running anywhere from 2-4x copies of oracle of nectars (this gives you tons and tons of fast life, esp. when combined with untap effects galore, and seekers/combo cards...)... and last thing I would highly recommend is actually an enchantment to help it get faster and combo better and more smooth... I was surprised at how powerful this card was when I first got it.... it is just absolutely amazing, for its just gross broken... name of card is "Quest for Renewal." Any way, shape, form that a creature becomes tapped, it gets a counter and once it has 4x counters (VERY easy to pull off with elves, its like taking candy from a baby so to speak...it is that easy!!), all your creature (ONLY yours I will add...broken, no!?) untap each and every single upkeep... I like your base structure but you should try ot get some better elves... course the ones I recommended are expensive and rare but if you are not gonna play to win fast in legacy, might as well not play at all, cuz even with extreme speed you will lose more often than not with elves, no matter how you play mono green elves.... only elf ball does well in legascy, and that is not a pure elf deck... it is elf combo.... just some thoughts though, you do not have ot listen of course but I do have tons of years straight playing mtg Elves, and I know what I am talking about... I am not a new player, and have have played since start of Tempest.... I KNOW the great elves, good ones are not enough... You need SPEED, POWER and COMBO to win with elves... and this is a bit tricky, so its always nice to get a new perspective on the whole subject. Oh, and I would (if I were you) up the imperius perfect to 4x copies, and keep (for obvious reasons) the 4x elvish archdruid. While archdruid is amazing, its also important to get both archdruids AND priest of titania to make it always run smooth.... But, it is a good start!! Just, id recommend beefing it up quite a lot.... just need the powerhouse elves...like the ones I mentioned. It is a great start ;p
