Well, please tell your friends they shouldn't rate decks that they don't know how to judge. Your "joke deck" has been competing for deck of the week, which hurts other players' REAL decks.

Thx for the 5 rating! Btw, I didn't actually didn't need to investigate the card or do any extra research, because I had all of those strategies and cards memorized (except their card numbers, perhaps). I was really into this game near its end...

And you forgot to mention one big helper for putting out Sage Mode earlier - Kushina Uzumaki that reduces the entrance cost of turn 7 animal ninjas. With her in play, you can basically put out Sage mode on turn 6 with the combo above. Or with Jiraiya Childhood or a turn 5 Jiraiya, it's possible to get Sage Mode in play on turn 5, but this is rather difficult without using things like Archrival (which could be sped up by playing the Mission searching turn 0 Kiba N832).


True, but I wrote this review around Avenger's Wrath. I just never added in post-AvW cards.

As for the Jiraiya Childhood and Kushina combo, I guess I was keeping it for myself That's the combo I use in my 4.6 Sage Mode deck.

Pretty good build, but I would consider taking out Chimera and Ame Orphans for something else. I used to think they were good too, but as I played them I realized they're effects are actually contradictory to Pain's strategy. Also, Animal Path TP crushes Animal Path POP, IMO.

The God cards... seriously?

At least add in the legal versions with their effects, lol. Even if you could play the original copies, they're horrible cards because they have no effects (meaning Slifer and Ra have 0 ATK and DEF).

One of the main points I was trying to cover in this review was that succeeding with Jiraiya Sage Mode doesn't take a perfect hand. Most of the cards that I suggested adding in a Sage Mode deck are search cards, so—like any deck—you just need a good, balanced hand to win.

No, lol, I wanted him in the Mission section. With Tobi's effect, I treat him as more of a Mission than a Ninja, so putting him in that section makes building my deck a little simpler.

Yeah, I thought of switching out a Rare Candy for another Water right after I logged out, so I didn't feel like logging back in again right away, lol. As for Keldeo EX, I only added in a few copies as a tech against fast decks.

Hi, thanks for the advice, but I actually have good reasons for not having as many Jutsu in this deck. One, it gets going later in the game, giving me time to collect Jutsu cards. Two, the Discard Lightning twist practically guarantees at least one Jutsu by the time Jiraiya (Sage Mode) comes in. Three, It's. Jiraiya. Sage. Mode—a single Jutsu is usually enough for him to win the game, especially with Mastery.

Also, Disaster/Nine-Tails does pretty devastating damage as well, as you saw in our duel

And in a blocked format deck, ink leech is forbidden.

But still,... it is a cleaver match


I'm aware of those things, but as I've already said, this deck is casual, not block.

COMBO: Combo this card with The Strongest One. Play The Strongest One, save the Sasuke that puts this card in play, then use Sasuke's effect (you will now have plenty of Ninjas in your Discard Pile for the cost), get Susano'o in play, and finally use his effect to leave your opponent's field empty. Doesn't always go perfectly, but has proven to be pretty good

NOTE: This card can be devastating if you get it off at the right time, but it's not as good as it is cool. Consider how much Chakra it takes, how bad Pain usually is at gathering Chakra, how it's not technically removal, plus the odds of there actually being multiple battling teams when you want to play it.
