Comment from the author: This is the first card of my Card Captor Sakura adaptation for Magic: The Gathering!
It's a great anime/manga, that tells the history of a young girl who discovers her magical powers when she finds old tarot-like cards inside a book. She accidentally releases the cards (which she finds to be dangerous magical creatures), and begins a nice adventure. These cards were created by the most powerful wizard ever: Clow Reed. Now, she must recover all the cards before they cause more problems.
What is nice about this anime is its connection with MTG: the cards are used to release magical powers, much like we do with our Magic cards. So, why not putting these two fantasies together?! :D
MECHANICS
New Supertype
*Clow: This supertype refers to any card related to Clow Reed's legacy, mainly his powerful creatures and artifacts. Note that though having this word in its name, The Clow isn't a clow card.
New Keywords
*Inevitable (This spell can’t be countered by or be the target of spells or abilities. This permanent is indestructible and can’t be sacrificed or be the target of spells or abilities. This card can’t be removed from the game.)
*Clowseal (This permanent doesn’t untap during your untap step, unless you control no Clow permanents. It can’t be untapped by any effects.)
EXPLANATION
This artifact is the book where Clow Reed sealed his magical cards. It has a guardian, Cerberus, who features in the book front.
It's the only way to put Clow cards into play (You're gonna see why). And another great innovation: a colored artifact! Cool, huh?!
As you're gonna see, the Clow cards have no mana cost. So, they can't be played by normal means (much like cards with suspend). But the Clow cards are SO POWERFUL, and due to their overwhelming abilities, there just can be ONE clow permanent under your control at a time. Can you have two of them if you really, really want? Yes, of course: paying 10 life and cleaning your table! Not a great deal, I guess...
There are some other keywords and explanations, but they will be done later (with the other cards).
Well, that's it. I've had great fun making these cards, I hope you enjoy them. ;)
Interesting concept! I'd be interested in seeing more of what you had to come up with, even if I wouldn't be interested in seeing these cards in an actual game.
For one, I'm not a big fan of cards that can never be removed or countered. It's possible to get rid of EVERYthing, and it's possible for a reason. Some cards are harder than others, but it's still possible. That mechanic is there for a reason.
Secondly, this card is incredibly expensive for what little it actually does. Not only does it cost 10 mana to play, 2 of all 5 colors, but you have to pay 10 life and sacrifice all your other creatures, enchants and artifacts, all just to bring out a single card of your choice from your library.
All in all, the cost isn't worth what little you gain from it.
Thank you very much for your comment. It's nice to see someone is really interested in my card.
I agree with you, this card wouldn't fit a real game. What I disagree is the fact it's too expensive or useless. You must see the other Clow Cards and how they're powerful!
By the way, I'm adding the first one right now! Check it out!
