General description:
This card didn't seem to have much use when GLAS was first released as Darks were not that much of a challenge or a strong deck type, but with the arrival of PTDN, this card got a whole lot more useful.
Uses:
Any dark monster who's effect activates on the field or in the grave can say Goodbye to their effect, this includes such cards as Snipe Hunter, Mystic Tomato, Destiny Hero Disk Commander, Sangan, Prometheus, Armageddon Knight and of course, the notorious Dark Armed Dragon.
Strategies and game play:
This card CAN be chained to the activation of an effect such as Snipe Hunter (useful to activate it after they discard) and also for when Dark-Armed picks his targets, it's Continuous and has no costs, so what have you got to lose?
Combos with other cards:
Preferably used in a deck/side-deck that does NOT use Dark-attribute trigger/multi-trigger effects (or more than a few monsters). Works very well sided into a Six Samurai deck as only Irou is dark.
Ways to counteract it:
Anything that kills traps. Jinzo, Royal Decree, MST, Heavy Storm etc.
Strengths/Pros:
Very handy in today's metagame/
No cost.
Continuous.
Chainable to effects.
Stops strong searchers. (e.g. Sangan)
Weaknesses/Cons:
Won't work if destroyed/negated.
Bad if you rely on trigger/multi-trigger effects of Dark monsters.
Intelligent players will tech against it most of the time.
Artwork and aesthetics:
I quite like the artwork for this card, it's symbolising that it's sucking in the darkness in the World including pesky DAD's. xD
Overall rating:
I give this card an 8 out of 10 for it's pure usefulness against today's most powerful decks, the fact that it has no cost, but also included the fact that it needs to stay on the field to work. I would advise side-decking 2 of these babies and not to use them if you rely on Darks.
