General description:
Destiny Hero - Plasma. The minute your opponent see's this card drop from your hand you just hear a sigh, they sigh because they see their defeat just a turn or two ahead, they sigh because of the havoc that you make reap upon them, they sigh because you have just dropped a near invincible monster. Destiny Hero - Plasma is a tricky card, but can be gamebreaking, lets find out how.
Uses:
Oh the uses. The first use that pops to mind with plasma is his ability to take an opponents monster, that not only offers you a source of monster removal but also a way of beefing up your monster. Then after you read a little further you realize that your opponents monster lose all of their nifty little effects (begin visualization process). You drop Destiny Hero - Plasma after sacrificing 3 scapegoat tokens for it (yes that is legal), you hear the innevitable sigh from your opponent as you take their Dark Armed Dragon, making your Plasma huge, but your opponents pain does not end their. Because Plasma is a special summon you are able to summon your Stratos from hand and seach another Plasma from your deck. Then you swing your Stratos into your opponents facedown monster, it's a Spirit Reaper, they almost look excited for a moment then realize what has happened. Plasma has drained their Spirit Reaper's effect, so the monster dies, and you swing forth with your Plasma Freely.
Strategies and game play:
The strategy is a simple one, you drop Destiny Hero - Plasma by sacrificing tokens, then devistate any shred of a strategy that your opponent may have had.
Combos with other cards:
Destiny Hero - Plasma interacts well with cards that can make tokens, i.e. Grinder Golem (play him, then take him), Phantom Skyblaster, Fires of Doomsday, and Scapegoat.
Ways to counteract it:
Destiny Hero - Plasma is simply countered if you play smart, you use basic monster removal, i.e. Bottomless Trap Hole, Dimensional Prison, Solemn Judgment, Lightning Vortex, Smashing Ground, etc.
Strengths/Pros:
Destiny Hero - Plasma Strengths are his monster removal, attack boosting, and effect severing abilities. Pair those with his special summon ability and your set.
Weaknesses/Cons:
Destiny Hero - Plasma is not immune to spells or traps, so it can be very tricky to keep him safe while on the field.
Variations:
Destiny Hero - Plasma has been printed in every language, it is only available to the US through the CT04 collectors tins, but was a special edition card in Japan.
Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork, and detail put into Destiny Hero - Plasma is extravagant. It is truely a beautiful piece of art, that will permenantly make its mark onto whomever may gaze upon it.
Overall rating:
While I am quite fond of this card, it does have its weaknesses, however in the current meta it is quite devastating, so i will have to give this card a 9/10. Good Job!
