General description:
I have been running a dragon deck since around 2003 and every once in a while I change out the cards newer, or older, cards depending on the rarity and how valuable it is to my deck. However, there is one card that has remained in my deck, the Blue-eyes White Dragon. This card is the central nervous system that makes my Blue Storm deck what it is.
Uses:
The Blue-eyes White Dragon can be used in a number of ways. First, this card can obviously be used as a great attack position monster due to its hefty 3000 attack points. Second, this card I also has 2 ways it can be fused to create an even more powerful monster. The most common way is the fusion of 3 Blue-eyes White Dragon to create the Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon with 4500 Attack and 3800 Defense. Another way is to fuse it with Black Luster Soldier to create Dragon Master Knight with an astounding 5000 Attack and 5000 Defense. Also 3 Blue-Eyes used with the spell card Delta Attacker which I will explain its use in the next section.
Strategies and game play:
The Blue-eyes White Dragon, as mentioned above, can be used strategically in many ways. One, would be to use 3 Blue-Eyes with the spell card Delta Attacker. Delta Attack allows the combination of 3 of the same, normal, monsters attack points to strike your opponents life points directly. Now when used with 3 Blue-Eyes, you can slam your opponent for a one-hit KO dealing 9000 damage directly to your opponents life points. You may also tribute the card Kaibaman to summon one Blue-Eyes from your hand to the field.
Combos with other cards:
An easy combo to do with this card is to use the spell card, Burst Stream of Destruction to destroy all opponents monsters on the field and then feel free to attack with another Blue-eyes or monster card, although the Blue-Eyes that attacked with the Burst Steam cannot attack. Also equip cards such as Sword of Deep-seated, Axe of Despair, etc.
Ways to counteract it:
The easiest way to counteract this card would obviously be Dragon Capture Jar. Other ways would of course be to overpower it, Dark Hole, Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, etc.
Strengths/Pros:
The hefty 3000 attack points is definitely a strength. Also its maneuverability with other cards is a pro.
Weaknesses/Cons:
Not much to say here other than don't put it in defense position and have a couple of tributes ready or a flute of summoning dragon.
Variations:
There are 4 artwork variations, 5 including the toon version.
Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork is magnificent. The artist really took the time to capture the ferocity of this monster.
Overall rating:
I give this "Archaic Overlord" a 10/10.
I hope you like this review!
