General description:
Nowadays people like to use Dark Armed Dragon and Judgment Dragon right? DAD has a devasting effect that nearly means 3 card loss if you cannot stop it. Judgment Dragon simply destroy everything you have at a low cost of 1000LP. And some splashable cards like Mirror Force and Torrential Tribute will make you cry. Or some people may like to use Royal Oppresion and Crush Card Virus, which can destroy a lot of monster by 1 card.
So......
My body as a Shield simply negate all these by paying 1500 LP.
Uses:
Stupid. When your opponent ever tries to destroy your monster, chain that with this card and they are gone.
Strategies and game play:
I liken Dark Bribe with this card. Dark Bribe negates a Spell or Trap by letting your opponent draws 1 card. I think that letting your opponent draw 1 will change the whole game, and I personally prefer paying 1500LP. Also, My Body as a Shield offer protection for your monster against other monster effects.
Combos with other cards:
No combo is needed. This card acts individually and acts well.
Ways to counteract it:
This is a Spell, and you say you counteract it? Either you play Solemn Judgment or other cards like that.
Strengths/Pros:
This is a quick-play Spell. What does that mean? Even when you are not the first one to go, you can have protection against your opponent's spells and traps during the first turn.
Weaknesses/Cons:
1500 Lp seems to be too much.

I give a 9/10. 1 deducted because 1500 LP is too much, but better than letting your opponent draw 1.
