Stardust Dragon
Stay tuned in for victory!!

General description:
Who hasn’t yet heard of this super cool behemoth boasting perhaps the best negation effect a monster ever got? Stardust dragon is a huge monster and astonishingly hard to remove from the field, so forget about one for one trades with it!!!

Uses:
This card is like a whole Counter Fairies deck squeezed in a single card. Its function is pretty much the same, giving you the ability to negate a destruction effect thrown at you. Even though you’ll be able to do that just once, the consequences will be devastating for your opponent as getting him off forever means attacking with a monster having 25oo Atk or more, which is quite rare nowadays. The most common threats will be DAD and Heraklinos. Gladiator Beast Gaiodiaz can do it too, but he’s not used and DMoC is banned.

Strategies and game play:
Synchro monster in general are going to overwhelm the metagame and change the whole concept behind duelling. To understand exactly why they’re so good, we should learn what they are!
Synchro monsters are special types of fusion monsters that are fusion summoned. Remember Neospacians could contact fuse? Well tuner monsters can use other monsters on your field to Synchro summon the Synchro monsters…
Pretty confusing, but in reality it’s much more simple. You must have a Tuner monsters and other monsters on the field, All you need to do is match the level to the Synchro monster you want to summon and them send the cards to the graveyard.
For example, Zaborg and Dark Resonator make a total of 8 stars(or level) so you can send them to summon Stardust Dragon from your extra deck.
Oh yeah, just as a side note, the fusion deck is now called Extra deck and is limited to 15 monsters only.

Combos with other cards:
Stardust works astonishing well on its own, but accompanied ny the right cards, you’ll be able to get it out quickly and get the best out of it. Believe me, getting him out on the first turn itself is devastating.
Dark Resonator + Cyber Dragon
These two cards can turn into a Stardust dragon in a single turn itself provided your opponent has at least one monster out. It’s a killer combo but since Cyber Dragon has been limited, this combo will be harder to pull.

Brain Control/Mind Control
These two will allow you to steal your opponent’s monster(s) and turn them into Synchro monsters. Mind Control is especially nice in here since he’s neither limited and nor would you be able to attack with the stolen monster.

Basically any card that’ll allow you to special summon monsters will help you take out Stardust Dragon namely Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Instant Fusion, Swing Of Memories and even Return From The Different Dimension.

Ways to counteract it:
The only way I can think of is to remove it from play while it is in the graveyard with cards like D.D Crow or Book Of Life to prevent him from coming back. Other than that, its build-in protective effect will just keep him at bay for one turn. Beware of Book Of Moon and Enemy Controller, they’ll spoil your fun.

Strengths/Pros:
- It is even better than Solemn Judgement in a way, since it can negate spells, traps OR monster effects.
- 2500 Atk is cool, at least now he can’t be killed by standard 2400 attackers like Jinzo.

Weaknesses/Cons:
- I can see no weaknesses in this card, except that it would be much better if you could remove it from play to negate effects.

Variations:
Available only in the brand new The Duellist Genesis booster pack but it’s got three rarities: Ultimate rare, Ghost rare and Ultra rare. It should get reprinted soon in a Collector’s Tin.

Artwork and aesthetics:
Too bad this site hasn’t uploaded the picture yet, it’s simply wonderful. It shows a cool shiny(covered with stardust)wings with elegance and attitude. Being ultra rare and all, it’ll be even more shiny in reality!!

Overall rating:
A 8.5/10 from me. It is definitely a cool and tough Synchro monster with lots of potential, but we have to wait for more synchros to know if it's the best. Its ease of summoning might make him the ideal target most of the time though!!

Hope you enjoy this review of mine on one of the best Synchro monster! It’s a new card so if you’ve got some constructive comments to make, please do not hesitate.

Good review, but you left out one of his weaknesses: Hand returning cards. Things like guardian sphinx, grand neos, and peguin soldier can make this card virtually usless. But besides that, great job.

I don't think, it is a whole counterfairy deck in one card. It can negate only destruction, but not special summons ATK increasers ect.
It is so narrow, so it could be easilly read.

It's very good! But I would change a few things.

1) It has already come out in a tin. I have 2!
2) Although I agree that 2500 ATK is good, it can be destroyed with its counterpart, Red Dragon Archfiend. It would be better if it was 3000 ATK. Either that, or change its level to 6 or 7.

good review,

he only comes back if sent to the grave for his destruction negation effect, i know premature is banned but monster reborn stops him from going back to the opponent b/c he wont be in their grave at the EP.

d.d. crow also works verry good againts him.

another good card for sync monsters is mind control b/c the monster you get CAN be used for a sync summ.

i almost forgot...

he is a spell speed 2 so he cannot be chained to cards like solemn judgement, horn of heaven, or black horn of heaven b/c he's not fast enough.

I am a OCG player.
1. Stardust should NOT be so highly rated, because you have Prime Material Dragon already. And discarding 1 card for cost isnt so bad. Stardust only allows one negation per turn, and this is not good enough.
2. I see no point why TCG players like Synchro summoning monsters SOOOOOOOO much. You do not have the best Tuner and Synchro Monsters. And with your Synchro monsters, Red Dragon Archfiend is big and that's all. Stardust is not as good as Prime. Goyo is good though.

And actually the best Sunchro monster: Brionac, leads to the banning of Premature. sosad
