Stolen Shards
Simple, but useful bonuses

General description:
This is a good item card to have in your deck due to its low deck cost (1), ability to be used with any character, and ability to help you keep needed item cards in play.

Uses:
This item card has two uses--boosting characters with middle-of-the-road stats and regaining needed item cards that get discarded.

Strategies and game play:
A good strategy is to attach this card to a character with decent stats of 4 or above. The +1 bonus to all colors improves the character's attack and defense across the board. This is also a good card to have in a deck with a lot of high-deck-cost characters. This way you can easily retrieve item cards that you were forced to send to the discard pile, keeping the item cards in play and replenishing your deck. A character with very low stats won't benefit as much from a +1 bonus, and if the character is killed too soon, you lose the bonus of choosing an item from your discard pile to return to your deck.

Combos with other cards:
The great thing about Stolen Shards is that it works with any character card to provide a simple +1 boost to all stats. It also works well with other cards that let you take cards from your discard pile to replenish your deck or rescue cards you need.

Ways to counteract it:
The only way to counteract this card is to kill the character it is attached to.

Strengths/Pros:
Since it provides a +1 bonus to all colors, you can use it with any character. The ability to retrieve item cards from your discard pile and put them on top of your deck helps you pick and choose which item cards will come up next and replenishes cards so you won't empty your deck first.

Weaknesses/Cons:
It only provides a +1 bonus, so if you attach it to a really weak character you'll soon lose the character and this card's effects when the character is killed.

Variations:
I don't know of any variations for this card.

Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork is a simple, non-distinctive screen grab from the Inuyasha anime, but it does a decent job of illustrating the card title.

Overall rating:
Overall, I would rate this card a 5.

The card is also a non-unique item. You can have multiple in the deck and spread them to all your characters. The second effect will pick up discarded items and in this game it is unpredictable what you will discard with paying deck costs. Retrieve your Tetsuiga.
