General description
This card is an all around good card that has all ways been my favorite card in Magic. Its got great stats and two great abilities for only 6 mana. And on top of being an all around good dragon, it's a classic, originating in Alpha it has been in core sets ever since.

Uses
It can be useful in many many ways weather it's to deal massive amounts of damage or to use as a blocker for creatures. it has great stats allowing it to take on almost any creature and live and its abilities allow you to do even more damage when you have extra mana or feel like going in for the final blow!!!

Strategies and game play
What makes this card so easy to use is that there is lots of strategies you could use for this card. The fact that its a single colored card that can easily be played with no draw backs makes it easy to combo cards with.

Combos with other cards
A simple combo to do is use seething song to play him on the forth turn. But like i said there are many ways to make combos with this card because this is such a simple card.

Ways to counteract it
As it has no way to protect itself (Shroud, Indestructible, or Regeneration) it can be easily killed by cards like Terminate, Path to exile, or Maelstrom Pulse. And it can also simply be counter by counter spells. So it is an easy card to get rid of.

Strengths/Pros
1. It's a 5/5.
2. It's got good abilities and stats for its mana cost.
3. it has 2 great abilities.
4. it's a card that can go in any deck.

Weaknesses/Cons
1. Its very easily to kill.
2. It can easily be countered by a counter spell.
3. It has no way to protect itself.

Variations
It comes in lots of sets, one of the main reasons i like it is because its a classic that starts from the beginning of the game. The sets it comes from are: Alpha, Beta, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th Edition, M10 and the Dragons Vault.

Artwork and aesthetics
The main reason this is my favorite card is because in my opinion it has the best art of any dragon in the game. And i love dragons!!! It's art is amazing. And the fact that there are three different arts makes it all the more unique.(I prefer the M10 Art though)

Overall rating
My over all rating for this card is an 8.5 out of 10

My first rare card. I choose my nickname thanks to this card. Wasn't in every core set however (the only card being in every core set is Giant SPider). It's an old time classic, but still gets his value on the field (unlike Mahamoti Djinn, the blue big flying fatty).
