General description:
this card is great because it can be used without any problem in any deck that is dedicated to making OTK. as we have no heavy storm at hand this can be a great successor. especially since there are no limits to use can have 3 of them but the funny thing is that almost no one uses.
Uses:

This card is used mainly in OTK decks as it is very efficient to leave the field open to magic or traps and to make our moves freely.
This card is very useful too to release the field things like macro cosmos, limit area b, gravity bind, mesenger of the peace and all those letters that hinder the grief.
otrouso important is to remove the equipment cards gearfreame machina such as this is treated as an equipment card.

Strategies and game play:

in order to add this card in your deck must be borne in mind that your deck does not depend on magic or trap cards that are continuous and that with this letter the same would ruin all your moves, this is one reason why it is little unusual to see this card in most decks because it needs to be placed first as the opportunity to destroy your opponent before he could be activated as with mobius, breaker, Lyla, Ryko and mst. so should be very careful when this card is used.

Other combos with cards:

Malevolent catastrophe + GEARTOWN : This is a combo execelente because at the time your opponent declares an attack in addition to running out of magic or traps in the field will also have the opportunity to summon ancient gear monster from anywhere in the field by example. ANCIENT GEAR GADJILTRON DRAGON, and your opponent would stay unprotected will have a monstruop Ytu with 3000 attack.

Malevolent catastrophe + gorz The Emissary of Darkness
a simple way to leave the field open for Gorz is able to bring this and you eliminate traps and you can download to Gorz without problems in case of a direct attack that also earn a token.

Malevolent CATASTROPHE + Treeborn FROG: Well this move is logical and can be used both in a monarch deck like a quickdrae and of course also the frog deck. MutY malevolent is useful in this case because that controls Treeborn need magic or traps to be convened in a special way or what you get a monster to use as shyncro or sacrifice.

MIRROR FORCE + Malevolent CATASTROPHE: this if it would be a great way of chaining as well as leaving the field clear of traps also leave your opponent without all the monsters without doubt an excellent move.

Malevolent CATASTROPHE + CYBER VALLEY: This is another execelente play because when your opponent declares an attack can use the effect of cyber valley and also use catastrophe which gives you the opportunity to take an extra card.

Ways to CounterAct it:
no doubt this being a trap card gives you the opportunity to destroy your opponent before being activated, using mystical space monsters as Typhon or breaker, and hyunlei lyla.
also can be easily negated with royal decree and monsters like Jinzo and stardust dragon.

Strengths / Pros:
1 .- surprise attack, as I mentioned this letter is rarely used so your opponent will not wait for this letter, besides that can be easily chained.
2 .- can get free of monsters that are been called up cards like call of haunted and future fusion.
3 .- delete the card that are dedicated to stop and lock the matches as Graviti bind, level limit area by gravekeepers servant.
4 .- its greatest advantage is that they can take 3 copies of this card so that your opponent will have to take care of when it attacks.

Weaknesses / Cons:
1 .- because they trap you need to stay a turn upside down giving a chance to be destroyed.
2 .- may be denied with cards like Royal Decree, Jinzo, dragon and starlight stradust road.
3 .- needs a specific time to use it.

Artwork and aesthetics:
Artistically it looks good but does not become anything striking good, what is certain is that it can cause catastrophe.

Overall rating:
I give this card a nine because its surprise factor can be the key in the completion of a duel

This card is awesome it is easy to get in Structure Deck Marik and is such a weakness for anti meta which is my decks only weakness

good job it is the next heavy storm but cards that counter traps make it not so good along with that once people see u using it. They re gonna be careful b4 using it.

As we walk into the new Sept 1st banlist, this card seems like it's unnecessary, unless you're playing monarchs, where you know how your opponent plays, when you know they wanna set stuff, and punish them.

I still give this card about a 7, but heavy storm is obviously better.

The main problem i have with malevolent catastrohe is there is a main phase 2, at every event i have seen unless the other play know you have a set morphin jar ie trap dusted/crush carded you last turn they take the chance of morphin over ryco every time this means is only turn 2 and onwards card.

Most side or main starlight road if they run heavy back row, and most top tair deck decks have alot of destruction effects so its activation trigger is a great handicap, personally i would reather main 3 mst and side deck this at best as most stall decks i.e decks running gravity binds area level b dont attack so you cant activite this anyways


advanced format 3/5 at best
traditional 1/5 maybe two depending on deck biuld

I really like your views on this card. It is not used too often, and i am sure if people main deck it, it will catch them by surprise. Your review of this card is pretty great.
