General description:
Effect: By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, remove from play 1 card from your opponent's Graveyard. This effect can be activated during either player's turn.
As you can see the effect of this card is really useful if you want to get rid of annoying things in the graveyard or to undo some pretty nasty combos, in these times where the metagame is based much of the graveyard. And personally I think this is one of the cards that should not miss in a Sidedeck
Uses:
Useful in most of the side decks, it is also good to use on Anti-Meta decks, to say Dark Simorgh and clearing the decks
Strategies and game play:
It isn’t a really strategic card, its effect alone is devastating in decks as frog – monarch, you get rid of several hindrances including Treeborn Frog and most recently Fishborg Blaster, it also helps to offset any amount of effects as in download cases to counter the effect of a Pot of Avarice, Monster Reborn or any grave-card designated. This can be really annoying to most decks especially if your opponent doesn’t have a good hand. Against a Blackwing deck you can remove those annoying Vayu and to counter the effect of Blizzard, to prevent summons, even some cards like: Dark Armed Dragon, Kristya and Jugment Dragon, Chaos Sorcerer, etc, etc ...
Combos with other cards:
DD Crow + Dark Grepher= DAD
Having enabled the effect of d.d. you can normal summon a Grepher and then activate its effect, with this you will have three cards in the cemetery and you can call Dark Armed Dragon
DD Crow + One for One + Any monarch = Chaos Sorcerer.
Discard a light monster from your hand and special summon DD with One for One, then you can tribute the dd to summon a monarch (in this case I would prefer Caius), with this you would have a light and a dark monster in the graveyard to bring Chaos. I would particularly use ths combo in a twilight deck.
DD Crow + Dark Armed Dragon:
Having successfully summoned your DAD and after using its effect, use your DD and remove some cards from your opponent’s graveyard, with this you will have an extra dark monster to activate the effect of DAD.
D. D. Crow Anti-Drop:
When you activate a discard effect and your DD is the discarded card, doing this triggers a chain by its own effect, this will help a lot when you activate, for example, the effect of Testalos The Fire Storm Monarch.
Ways to counteract it:
I've thought about it very well, and after all my time playing, I realized that there aren’t many cards that can counter this card, the only way I have in mind at the moment is a Divine Wrath or any other similar card.
Strengths/Pros:
It can help you to get rid of those grave-cards that could undo all our strategy or the opponent’s. A great help against Dark World decks, Fable, Zombie, Infernyti, thwilight and even against the XX - Sabers, etc.
Weaknesses/Cons:
Una carta que no te servira de nada en tu campo a menos que no te quede de otra y la uses para una Icarus Attack
Variations:
Rare and Ultimate Rare: STON-EN24
Common CP05-EN016 and TU03-EN013,
Artwork and aesthetics:
The image depicts quite well the effect of a crow from a different dimension
Overall rating:
That cards effect is almost perfect, plus it is really devastating. I give it a 9
