General description:

Is it a bird?
Is it a man wearing an armor?

NO! Its Genex Ally Birdman- The Birdman!

Hey guys, its swordbaron4 here, I'm going to do a review about a Monster Card named Genex Ally Birdman. O.K. so here I go. I'm going to start this review with Genex Ally Birdman's basic facts. I hope you guys like my review. Enjoy!

Attribute: Dark
Level: 3
Monster Type: Machine
Card Type: Monster/Tuner
Attack points: 1400
Defense Points: 400

One of the best stats of a Level 3 Tuners I have ever seen. And that's not all its effect is one of the best too.

You can return 1 face-up monster you control to the hand to Special Summon this card from your hand, and this card gains 500 ATK if it was a WIND monster you returned. If this card is Special Summoned with this effect, remove it from play when it is removed from the field.

Even though its effect negative effect is that you must return 1 monster to your hand to Special Summon it, still to me this card is one of the best tuners right next/above/ or right under gale. You could just normal summon it instead of Special Summoning it. Plus it's just one monster card that you must return what's the big deal about that unless you had a level 5 or higher monster or spirit reaper on the field. This card is an epic level 3 1400 ATK that can be boosted up to 1900 ATK And I mean a level 3 that can get to 1900 ATK by just returning one wind type monster to your hand!! That's incredible!!!
Level 4 beatdown monsters, watch out, Genex is coming. Thid card would be great destroying beatdowns by using level b limit.

Uses:

Works well with cards that have effects when they are Summoned or leave the field.

Examples: X-Sabers, Monarchs, Reborn Tengu

Also works really well in a Genex Deck and Wind-Type Deck since it could be powered really quickly if you bounced back a wind monster to your hand.

And it's a Special Summon if you return one card to your hand, so if you didn't Normal Summon a card this turn yet, you can Normal Summon this turn (or Special Summon something else.

Strategies and game play:

Really Useful in decks with monsters that apply when Summoned or cards with effects that apply when they leave the field.

Monarch

Six Samurais

X-Sabers

Mist Valley Deck

Arcana Force Deck

Gadgets and many other more!!

Low on Synchros, Fusions, Rituals, and Monsters? Load them back into your deck with Pot of Avarice! If you haven't Special Summon Birdman, you can bring him back with Pot of Avarice.

And it is a great card to use as a Synchro Material.

Combos with other cards:

Genex Ally Birdman + Six Samurai Mizhou= You can Special Summon Mizhou if you have Legendary Six Samurai Shani plus that's Special Summon so you can still Normal Summon and if you have Temple of the Six or Gateway of the Six you could add some Bushido Counters to that.

Genex Ally Birdman + Six Samurai Shinai= You can Special Summon Shinai if you have Legendary Six Samurai Mizhou and that's a Special Summon so you can Normal Summon if you haven't and this could create some Bushido Counters.

Genex Ally Birdaman + Six Samurai Kizan = You can Special Summon Kizan if you had 2 Legendary Six Ssamurai on the field bounce it back with Birdman, Special Summon again for Bushido Counters.

You can Normal Summon Legendary Six Samurai Kageki use his effect to Special Summon one Six Samurai or Legendary Six Samurai than bounce it back to use its effect on the next Turn.

Genex Ally Birdman + Any Monarchs ( Raiza helps the most although it does not destroy your opponent's monster they will have to draw that card again, so the draw no new one) = Another turn to use the Monarchs effect. If you use Raiza, this card gains 500 ATK too.

Genex Ally Birdman + XX-Saber Boggart Knight = Normal Summon Boggart Knight, use its effect, bounce it back with Birdaman's effect. On your next turn Summon XX-Saber Boggart knight and use its effect.

Genex Ally Birdman + Xx-Saber Raggigura = Normal Summon Raguira use its effect than bounce it back with Birdman. On the next turn use its effect again.

Genex Ally Birman + Breaker the Magical Warrior = Normal Summon Breaker, use his effect. Bounce it back and than during the next turn summon Breaker and use his effect or to make it 1900 ATK.

Genex Ally Birdman + any wind monster= To make this card gain 500 ATK.

Genex Ally Birdman + any level 4 monster= Level 7 Synchro.

Genex Ally Birdman + any monsters with flip effects= Use the effect of the set monster, bounce it back with Birdman's effect, set the card again, than use its effect.

Genex Ally Birdman + Tour Guide From the Underworld= You should Summon Tour Guide than use her effect to bring a monster from your deck to the field, return Tour Guide back to your hand using Birdman. Than the Next turn Summon Tour Guide and Special Summon another monster.

or...

Genex Ally Birdman + Tour Guide From the Underworld= Use Tour Guide's effect. Return either Tour Guide or the monster you Summoned. If you returned the monster that was Special Summon, you can Synchro for a level 6.

Genex Ally Birdman + Gravekeeper's Spy= Arcanite Magcian. Set Gravekeeper's Spy than during the next turn you can Normal Summon one monster that has an effect that apply when it is Summoned or remove from the field or you could just normal summon Birdman, bounce that back to get Birdman and Synchro.

Genex Ally Birdman + Reborn Tengu= Normal Summon one Tengu if you haven't already, bounce it back with Birdman's effect than use Tengu's effect to bring another tengu out, synchro summon a level 7 Synchro Monster. And you still get another Tengu since the Tengu you used is removed from the field. And if you don't synchro Birdman's ATK becomes 1900.

Genex Ally Birdman + Psi-Blocker= If you already have 1 Psi-Blocker on the field and you haven't Normal Summon yet, return the Psi-Blocker to your hand but Birdman's effect than Normal Summon Psi-Blocker to block one card so your opponent can't use it.

Genex Ally Birdman+ Junk Synchron= Summon Junk Synchron and use his effect. Bounce him back with Birdman's effect. The next turn you can summon Junk Synchron again and use his effect again. If the first monster that Junk Synchron revive was a level 2 Non-Tuner, you could synchro for level 5 monsters like Ally of Justice Catstor (or something like that.) If its a level 2/1 level Tuner monster and you have some monsters on the field. You could get creative and try to synchro summon a monster in your Extra Deck.

Genex Ally Birdman + Gallis the Star Beast + Koa'ki Meiru Doom(first time kill)=Use a deck with no Spells or Traps and a deck with a few level 10 monsters (about 4-6). First get Koa'ki Meiru Doom on the field than Gallis on the field/ hand (it is optional.) If Gallis is in your hand activate its effect than you must Special Summon it by its effect. Activate Birdman's effect to bounce back Galis while Koa'ki negates its effect. than you use Galis's effect to inflict damage to your opponent.

Genex Ally Birdman + Mist Valley Falcon + any monsters that has effect(s) triggered when summon= (Example) Play Mist Valley Falcon. During your next turn, Summon a monster that fits the category I listed (Any monsters that i put above this would do fine). After using its effect, bounce it with Birdman than if you are able to attack with Mist Valley Falcon attack and bounce Birdman to your hand. Repeat. For decks like X-Sabers this method is an easy Swarm method.

Genex Ally Birdman + Mind Control = If your opponent has only one monster (other examples: annoying monster or high level monster, Synchros, Fusions, Rituals,Exceed) you can use Mind Control on their monster. Bounce their monster back to their hand. Than Normal Summon 1 Non-Tuner monster and synchro. (Won't work on your opponent's cards that negates Spells or Effects. Examples: Stardust Dragon, LAD (Light and Darkness Dragon), The Horusts monsters, etc.)

Genex Ally Birdman + Gorz= If your opponent declares an attack activate Gorz. You can Bounce Gorz to your hand again than when your opponent destroys your token and Genex ally Birdman, you can use Gorz's effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Debris Dragon= Normal Summon Debris, than use its effect and bounce it back with Birdman.

Genex Ally Birdman +Ryko, the Lightsworn Hunter= Set Ryko, than flip it in your next turn. Bounce it back with Birdman. Great for Zombie/Mill decks and if you discard Plaguespreader Zombie, you can use its effect.

Genex Ally Birdman + Alien Dog= When you Normal Summon an Alien Monster you cann special summon this card, use its effect (good for alien decks) and bounce it back with Birdman. You Could Probably Synchro too.

Genex Ally Birdman + any Gadgets= Summon a gadget. If you want more gadgets, use its effect than bounce it back with Birdman's effect. Then you use the Gadget's effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Dragon Seeker= Playing against a top made dragon deck? Use Birdman and Dragon Seeker. Tribute Summon Dragon Seeker and use its effect. Than you can bounice it back to your hand with Birdman and use its effect your next turn.

Genex Ally Birdman + Cold Enchanter= Normal Summon Cold Enchanter than use its effect. Bounce it bck to your hand with Birdman's effect. On your next turn, Normal Summon it and Cold Enchanter's ATK will become 2200.

Genex Ally Birdman + Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord= Special Summon this card when you activate a Counter Trap Card and activate its effect depending on the card you negated. If you have a lot of counter Trap Cards, bounce it back with Genex Ally Birdman and when you use a Counter Trap Card you can Special Summon this card and activate its effect depending on the card it negated.

Genex Ally Birdman + Kuraz the Light Monarch = This method is good for clearing your field in a Crystal Beast deck, if you want to draw cards, or if you just want to clear your opponent's 2 cards. Normal Summon Kuraz with a tribute, use his effect and destroy 2 Crystal Beast Monsters on your side. You draw two cards and the Crystal beast remains on the field in the Sell/Trap Zone.

Genex Ally Birdman + Necroface= Not so good anymore since Necroface is limited now. If it wasn't, you would play your first Necroface when you have eough remove from play cards. When it is destroyed, find some way to remove it from play so you remove from play the 5 cards of both players. If you draw your second Necroface, Normal Summon it and return all cards that were remove to their decks. You can bounce it with Birdman's effect and wait until you have a large pile of cards in your remove from play cards, than Normal Summon Necroface and use its effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Hannibal Necromancer= Normal Summon this card and use its effect (if your opponent controls a face-up trap). Bounce it back with Birdman and on your Next turn you can Normal Summon this card and use its effect again. If your Birdman isn't destroyed yet you can Synchro for Arcanite Magician.

Genex Ally Birdman + Scrap Recycler= Normal Summon Scrap Recycer and use its effect to send 1 Machine type monster from your deck to the graveyard, use its effect to bring back that card (if it was level 4 or lower) to your deck and draw 1 card. Bounce it back with Birdman and on the next turn use its effect. If Birdman is not destroyed yet on the turn you Summon Scrap Recycler you can sycnhro Brionic.

Genex Ally Birdman + Ancient Lamp= Normal Summon Lamp, on your Main Phase Special Summon La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp. Bounce it back with Birdman, than you can synchro for level 7 with La'Jinn. On your next turn if you have a Lajinn in your hand repeat the method but without Birdman this turn.

Genex Ally Birdman + Medium Piece Golem= If you control a Big Piece Golem, Normal Summon this card than activate its effect to Special Summon Small Piece Golem. Return this card with Birdman and Synchro with either Medium or Small. If you still have Big Piece Golem on your next turn repeat the process without Birdman.

Genex Ally Birdman + Magical Plant Madragola= This method is great for creating Spell Counters on the field. Set Madragola on your next turn flip it and place 1 Spell Counter on the field that you can put on. Bounce it back with Birdman and on your next turn you can Set this card again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Apprentice Magician= This method is better than the first method that creates Spell Counters. Normal Summon this card and place a Spell Counter on a face-up card that you can. Bounce it back with Birdman and on your next turn you can Normal Summon this card. Reuse its effect. If Birdman is still on the field you can Synchro Summon for Catastor.

Genex Ally Birdman + any Arcana Force monsters= You can Normal Summon and Arcana Monsters use its effect than bounce it back with Birdman and than you can use the Arcana's effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Batteryman Charger= Tribute Summon Batteryman Charger
and use its effect. Bounce it back with Birdman on your next turn Tribute Summon it to use its effect again. This cards atk will become 2400 if you still have the Batteryman monster you Speciual Summoned last turn and the Batteryman you Summoned this turn.

Genex Ally Birdman + Frequency Magician= Normal Summon Frequency Magician and use its effect on 1 monster you control. That monster will be boosted with 500 ATK, than bounce it back with Birdman. The next turn. Summon Frequency magician and use its effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Defender, the Magical Knight= Normal Summon Defender, than use its effect. When a Spellcaster you control is destroyed, you can remove that spell counter instead. Bounce it back with Birdman. On your next turn Normal Summon Defender and use its effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + Armageddon Knight= Normal Summon Armageddon Knight and use its effect. Send one fiend Dark monster to your Graveyard. Bounce it back with Genex Ally Birdman and on your next turn Summon Armageddon Knight to send 1 fiend Dark monster to your Graveyard. Just 1 more and you will be able to Summon either Dark Necrofear or Necro Nephthys.

Genex Ally Birdman + Elemental Hero Stratos= Normal Summon Elemental Hero Startos and use its effect if you control another Elemental Hero or Destiny Hero to destroy cards equal to the Elemental or Destiny hero cards you control (except this card.) Bounce it back with Birdman and on your next turn you can Normal Summon it again and use its effect again.

Genex Ally Birdman + T.G. Warwolf= Return 1 monster you control by using Birdman's effect. Than you can Special Summon T.G. Warwolf and synchro.

Ways to counteract it:

Trap Hole

Solemn Warning

Strengths/Pros:

Search able with.....

Sangan-Less than 1500 ATK

Genex Searcher-You can Search Birdman if this card was Special Summoned.

Mystic Tomato- Dark Type with Atk less the 1500 ATK

Genex Neutron- You can Search Birdman with this card

Machina Armored Unit- If a Dark type machine type monster with more than 1400 Atk is destroyed you can Special Summon Birdman.

Vidikite R-Genex- If this card destroys an opponent monster you can search Birdman to your hand.

UFOroid- You can Special Summon Birdman if this card was destroyed by Battle.

Banned Cards

 Witch of the Black Forest- Less than 1500 Def

Other Stats that Helps

Its attribute is dark, so cards like dark illusion can protect it.

Level 3. Easy Synchro for level 7 Synchros if you just had a level 4 on the field.

Good ATK for level 3, even if not boosted up by its effect.

Weaknesses/Cons:

I can't really list any weakness of this card. Except..

It's remove from play if you special summoned it when it goes to the Graveyard.

Weak defense. If your opponent Changes this card to defense position, it could easily get destroyed.

Destroys Spirit Reaper if bounce back to hand.

Variations:

There is only one copy of this card in English. In the pack Hidden Arsenal 4.

Artwork and aesthetics:

Its artwork really looks amazing. To me it looks like a bird rescuing someone from the battlefield and taking their spot while they are in safety. And the blue stuff behind its back is super awesome. Plus take a look at its armor. Its pretty impressing to see a bird wear that armor!

Overall rating:

I would give this card a 10/10 not because of its mighty artwork but because its a level 3 Tuner (great level for tuner) 1400 ATK enough to protect itself from other level 3's and you can bounce one monster card back to your hand.

GAB can also be included in a Mist Valley deck.

You use GAB effect to return Mist Valley Thunder-bird from your field to hand, and special summon him again for at least a level 6 synchro (or higher).

Informative review

Note: Thunder-Bird has no dash (-) between them, but I put one in order to avoid spelling mistakes.

Returning a monster to the hand is a cost, Spirit Reaper isn't be destroyed by that. Also, Birdman's Special Summon is caused by a Trigger Effect, so it can't be negated with Thunder King Rai-Oh.
I like that Birdman can become a level 3 1900 ATK monster if it bounces a Wind monster, but that means it can be affected by Bottomless Trap Hole... So, unless it is with Reborn Tengu, Thundebird or some Dragunities, there is no reason for doing that.
And completely missing the point, Genex Ally Birdman reminds me of Ally of Justice Cyclone Creator.

What about Monarchs. there are more cards that can combo with Genex Ally Birdman SS for Busido Counters and Spellcasters for Spell Counters. And only 1 Monster.... back to your hand. Not destroyed and you don't have to pay any lifepoints. Plus if you haven't Normal Summon something yet you could Normal Summon a monster during the turn that you have Special Summoned Genex Ally Birdman= Quick Synchro? People have opinions. To me this is a great card. to you this is a bad card. -.-

Please note that all I said is that bouncing a Wind monster makes Birdman's ATK rise to 1900. 1400 is not affected by Bottomless Trap Hole, but 1900 is. Therefore, bouncing a Wind monster just to get the ATK increase is, in my eyes, a not very good idea.
And just so you know, I actually like Genex Ally Birdman... Comparing it to AOJ Cyclone Creator is not an insult or anything, it's just that their names and pictures are strikingly similar, to me at least.
