Arrival of a New Life
Hey People, Once again its been a really long time since i wrote a review on my Avatar List (The Naga Review was back in October... My Bad) Well, what have i been doing during that time? Vortex Wars is completed and the first Chapter of its Sequel: Duel Masters Cross Force has debut last weekend. And i was gonna start on Chapter 2... but with this SOPA mess, i can't use wikipedia or google let alone to look up info for locations and stuff -_-. So i figured i'd work on something else, a New Review. Thus to Kick off #4 is Adrian and Jake...
Yes Sir, the Leader of the Avatars makes his appearance finally. Aura Pegasus Reigns over the Light and Nature civilizations with Iron Hooves, similar to how Its user Adrian, commands Team Vortex with an Iron Fist. In a similar way that Nikki shares a parental relationship w/ Sarina, Adrian shows affection to Sarina as a Father Figure, and he also sees Nikki as a close comrade, maybe more...
The Original Chainer
Aura Pegasus is the Vortex Evolution of the Celestial Angel Commands, and Territorial Horned Beasts, An odd combination at first, but considering what it is, its the only logical explanation. It really helps that Light and Nature already have a bond as it is, however in the early sets, I can only imagine how long it must've took to get the Pegasus out with the costs of Command Raced creatures at the time, being at 5 minimum. Or you know, Nature's known for Mana acceleration so maybe it didn't take as long as I'm assuming. One thing I like about this creature is that, like Soul Phoenix, has Triple Breaker, something that was ripped off the others for some odd reason... And of course, I need a Drumroll for this part. It's unique ability:
Leading a Chain Gang: Aura Pegasus summons creatures to aid him in his fight against evil. Each time he attacks, or leaves, The top card of your deck is revealed. if it's a non-evolution creature, it's thrown into the Battle Zone. If not, then its sent to your hand. Where do I remember this from...
(Cyber G Hogan- Chain Cascade)
(Butterfly Brandy, Electro-Taiga- Rebirth Chain)
(Aqua Jack- Chain)
Meh, it'll come to me later on, I'm sure. Nonetheless, 6 mana, 12000 power and triple Breaker makes him the 2nd Most powerful (Just shy of Soul Phoenix's 13000 mark). Reason why he's #2 in my opinion is because of his Power, and his Breaking Variant. And the fact that he can throw a creature into the battle zone just by smacking your creature with it's hoof. In the combo section I'll go more into Detail with those. Moving on...
Cross #4: Life
KG: Life Cross is Adrian's deck. Angel Commands and Horned Beast existed since DM-01, and the relationship between Light and Nature existed since DM-04. The Deck Features Accelerator: Arissa, Holy Strike Vizier, who when cross with a gear becomes part of the Angel Command Ranks, along with the Syrius Twins, Urth ,Syforce Valkyer and Ethel. On the Nature's side you have the reliable Rumbling Terahorn, the Creature version of Dimension Gate, and other Horned Beast.
Pegasus' Army of Justice
Oh Crud I remember now! Aura's Ability reminds me of the Chain Mechanic introduced in the Psychic Shock Set AKA DM-36
This Right Here
The Chain Mechanic is Special to the Water Civilization with the exception of some from the Light. Nonetheless, let's see what we can make of this. Well start easy.
Knowing that someday I can Vortex Evolve into the next Avatar of Life is just as great as becoming Master Ulpheus' Disciple. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm sick of holding these Scales 24/7 (Ultimus, Spirit of Divine Law)
Ultimus is a 4 Costing Angel Command with Blocker. I'd recommend him, because its Cheap Bait, and it's a blocker. Speaking of Cheap bait...
For the last time... I'm not a Freakin Rabbit you stupid Reptiles! And don't bother, those Fire Spells can't damage my- ow that Burns!! (irohas, Spirit of Extinguishing)
Irohas is the same Race and Cost as Ultimus. Instead of being a Blocker, its a Shield trigger Creature, and Its unaffected by Fire Spells. And like Ultimus, Cheap Evo Bait.
Shoot! Ballom's Ashliger got out again, Jeez he's gonna kill me if he finds out!(Thunder Tiger, Wolf Blade)
Ashliger, the Cocco Lupia of the AC/DC World. Reduces the Angel Commands by 2, making summoning them much easier and quicker.
Gross, that thing's been swimming in the Toxic Waste pit; There goes my Burger. (Schuka, Duke of Amneisa)
3 mana and Double Breaker?! In the English TCG?! No really it does in fact have Double Breaker, the lowest Costing creature in the English TCG to have that. this is expected in the Japanese OCG, I mean come on, Terradragon Drapi... 1 mana 15,000 power. But once again, Evo Bait and he can do some damage, granted he sticks around for long.
Pick a Card any card... Except for Spells, Cross Gears and Fortresses. (Rumbling Terahorn)
The Creature Version of Dimension Gate, Rumbling Terahorn lets you search for any creature in your deck and add it to your hand. This helps tons because not only can you give your deck a quick scan (It's not cheating ) but you can snag Bait or the Big Bad Boss himself.
LOL and Mad Guitar thought he could beat me in Guitar Hero... (Aqua Strummer)
After talking about chains, you must've seen this coming. Aqua Strummer can rearrange the top 5 cards of your deck, which works out great if you have Aura Pegasus in the Battle Zone. If out of those 5 cards is a Powerful creature, then set him on top and send Aura into Battle. The New creature will enter into the Battle Zone and now you have 2 powerhouses to wreak havoc with.
So I'm impatient when it comes to certain things, got a problem with that?- (Aqua Jack)
A spell version of Aqua Strummer, Synapse Cube lets you rearrange the top 4 cards of your deck, instead of 5. Like Strummer you can put the heavy hitters on top and see what you get when you attack your opponent
Any Creature with the Chain Ability: This is in relation with the 3 Water Creatures above. Chain is the ability that triggers when you summon the Creature. You flip the top card of the deck, if it costs less than the summoned creature, then you put it into the battle zone. if not then it goes back. Chain Cascade, flips the top Two, and Chain rebirth does it when Taiga's Summoned, and when it's Destroyed. If you manage to Attack with Aura Pegasus and get a Chain Creature, who gets another, who gets another...etc. You can get an army of creatures. Think about it next time you Make an Aura Pegasus deck ;)
Incapacitating the Forces
This is Child's play. All I have to do is sit here and watch you lot plummet to the ground(Eternal Meteor Kaiser)
The Infamous Eternal Meteor Kaiser, yeah he can disrupt Aura Pegasus' ability pretty easily through it's own. Even if Aura Pegasus gets a creature, the creature gets into the Battle Zone Tapped, as wide open as a hero without the slightest idea on how he's gonna pull off whatever feat he plans on. And to make matters worse, he can just get his army to do the dirty work, doesn't even have to lift a claw. The controller's creatures gain Speed Attacker through him so that doesn't help either.
Yee-Haw, Dance Stranger Dance! *Shoots at unsuspecting creatures* (Magnum, Allshot Puppet)
Darkness is and always will be a pain in the butt. Magnum has the ability to force your opponent to destroy a creature that enters the battle zone if no mana was tapped for it. So Aura's Chain ability is completely shattered into bits.
Road leading to Life
Aura Pegasus is a Solid card, Able to summon creatures by attacking, making that by itself something not to take lightly. And with it's triple Breaker ability, Like Soul Phoenix, it's pretty powerful.
Shortcut to Death
Not a lot of disadvantages concerning this card, not at this point at least. Other than the Vortex Evolution, A Deck of Light and Nature should have no problems summoning him.
Lighting up the Night Sky
Aura Pegasus is really beautiful in the sense that it's the embodiment of Justice and Life. the colors are warm and soothing (I guess its the rainbow wings) and it just gives off that Majestic but fierce body language in the pic.
Conclusion to part 4 (Finally):
Aura Pegasus gets a 9/10. Solid ability, Can chain just about anything that doesnt involve being an Evolution Creature and its Nature and Light, a combination thats very familiar with each other. The downside is the Vortex Evolution itself, the costs of Angels and Horned Beast being as much as it is. But with Nature's Mana Accel it shouldnt be an issue.
Well then, That's it for me. Up Next is Part 5: Death Phoenix. Cya Guys.
