Its been too long since my last review and as I shocked I couldn’t find one for one of the best cards this format I thought I’d show my love and hate (especially if I’m using my wind up deck) for this great card.

EFFECT
Maxx ‘c’
'You can activate this effect during either player's turn by sending this card from your hand to the Graveyard. This turn, each time your opponent Special Summons a monster(s), draw 1 card. You can only activate "Maxx "C"" once per turn.'

PROS
 SAVE YOUR LIFE

Everyone has seen wind-up decks if you don’t open Maxx ‘c’ or a couple Effect Vailers you have lost unless you have lady luck on your side

This card nets you soo much
Dino rabbits chain to tourguide it’s a 1 for 1 at least normally it’s a tour into an other tour/sangan (1for1) into sea dragon (plus 1) into bunny (plus 2) into some normal (plus 3) then into xyz (plus 4)

Wind ups its normally a 1 for 1 but saves you the turn as they stop to stop you netting crazy pluses and give you a chance to defend yourself with back row

Inzectors can save you if they go for the otk but they are more flexible and just go for it next turn if you cant stop the summon of the dragonfly

And being honest they are this formats tier decks

 Searchable with Sangan (thankfully not banned as many feared)
 Can be searched with Verdant Sanctuary is your using an Inzector deck need to make your opponent think about their plays as you can chain it to mind crush costing them a card and you still get the effect of Maxx ‘c’
 Can be used during ether players turn they call of haunted a Tengu I can get you the plus 1 one for one on the first tengu and the plus 1 when they bring out the second (and now last Tengu)

CONS
 Weak attack and defense 500 attack 200 defense so it wont last long in a fight but who care your not going to set it unless you’re dead, i.e you topped it after the Wind ups went crazy. Although with trishula being banned you might still have 1 maybe 2 cards in your hand and depending on your deck (inzectors or chaos) you might be able to make a come back
 The ‘sending to the graveyard’ is a cost meaning macro decks make Maxx ‘c’ a dead card you can chain to the activation but after that it’s useless unless you destroy dimensional fissure or macro cosmos.
 Can be divine wrathed
 Can be stopped by Light and darkness dragon (frogarchs)
 Very expensive as its only been released in Storm of Ragnarok

COMBOS
 Can be brought back Junk Synchron or Debris Dragon and used for a syncro
 Can be recycled with pot of avarice
 Can be recycled with monster reincarnation (if you run it)
 Can be compulse activation deviced back into you hand if bought back with Junk and Debris or reborn

Personally I hate the artwork for this card it is meant to look like a lot of bugs (as it doesnt let me name the bug) in a room but it just looks bad. It would have been better as a troll face as the opponent special summons a monster but hey that’s just me

This in the current format is a 10 out of 10 as everything special summons everyone is running reborn a few calls your allowed 3 now and special summon monsters, it’s the main defense against the new meta decks especially wind ups

Saying bring it to the wind-up loop for at least 6 months

Here are a couple more cons:

1. Maxx "C" cannot save your life, only hope it shuts your opponent down because they're afraid of what you might draw. If the deck you're facing special summons out enough monsters to make "C" really useful, chances are you're going up against an OTK. That's why it's important to use some of the special summon from the hand cards, like Gorz, Fader, Swift Scarecrow, and/or Trag.

2. This card CAN cause a deck out in the end. If you face Madolche or X-Sabers (two somewhat popular decks) they can and will abuse Maxx "C". Madolche with Desperate Tag will just keep on special summoning in the battle phase, which the normal OTK usually uses Madolche Waltz as well. X-Sabers can preform the Faultroll loop, and not only make you draw every card in your deck, but make you discard each one as well! This can be prevent only by cards like Effect Veiler and D.D. Crow.
