Steelswarm Caller is a new 1700 ATK Fiend monster, that works amazing with the new Steelswarm archetype released in Hidden Arsenal 5, and soon to be 6. He's also a DARK monster, giving him even more versatility than just his amazing effect!

Well, his effect is pretty basic:
"When a "Steelswarm" monster is Tribute Summoned by Tributing this card: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Steelswarm" monster from your Deck."
This can be used in conjunction with other cards to give a super powerful field advantage to this cards controller! Almost all Steelswarm tribute monsters can only activate their effects if they tribute a Steelswarm monster for their summon. The Caller is easily the best choice for that summon, giving the cards controller another Caller from their deck, along with the tributed monster!
Combos with other cards:
Steelswarm Caller + Steelswarm Mantis : Tribute the Caller for the Mantis, and by paying 1000 Life Points, you bring the Caller back! And using the Caller's effect, you can summon out another Caller from your deck, setting up for a powerful 4 star xyz summon! Evilswarm xyz monsters will become a HUGE part of any Steelswarm deck, giving them potential to lock the opponent down and maintain a powerful field advantage, using xyz monsters like Evilswarm Bahamut, Evilswarm Ophion, and Evilswarm Ouroboros!
Caller + Evilswarm Castor: Evilswarm Castor lets you normal summon another Steelswarm or Evilswarm card from your hand, being the Marauding Captain of Steelswarm. If he summons out the Caller, that's an instant 3450 direct attack, or another chance at a powerful 4 star xyz summon. Not to mention the use of Double Summon in this situation...
Caller + Double Summon: This card goes amazing with the Caller. You can use it to summon Caller + Tribute Steelswarm monsters like Steelswarm Girastag, Steelswarm Moth, or Steelswarm Mantis. I'll go over the combos with Girastag and Moth in a second. Or if you do Evilswarm Castor as one of your two summons, you could Summon Castor + Caller + Any tribute monster as well! This will leave you with a Castor, Caller #2 brought out by the first one's effect, and the tribute monster! That can be a good amount of attack power, or a tribute monster and an xyz summon. Caller + Double Summon is a deadly combo in general.
Caller + Steelswarm Girastag/Steelswarm Moth: Tributing the Caller for Girastag lets you send 1 card your opponent controls to the graveyard, and gain 1000 LP. This can set up for 4300 points of damage to your opponent by attacking with both Caller and Girastag. The moth lets you return two cards your opponent controls to the hand. This can be a backrow threat or a powerful xyz or synchro monster. Either way, the moth makes short work of these cards, and with the help of the caller can be a direct 4100 to your opponent.
Caller and Dark Support! :The Caller can work with dark supporting cards like Allure of Darkness, Creeping Darkness, Dark Armed Dragon, and so much more.
There are many combos around this card, being so easy to summon with Double Summon, or from the grave to set up for your normal summon for the turn with cards like Call of the Haunted, Infestation Ripples, and Monster Reborn. These are just a few of the most powerful combos around this devastating card.
Ways to counteract it:
Well being 1700 and totally relying on normal summons, he can be hit by Bottomless Trap Hole, Solemn Warning, Solemn Judgment, Torrential Tribute, and other cards activated on the summon. A Divine Wrath or Gladiator Beast War Chariot can negate his special summoning effect as well. Book of Moon can put the monster he's tributed for to shame.
He really is the Reborn Tengu for Steelswarms. Steelswarm tribute monsters require a Steelswarm tribute for their effects to activate, and alongside the Steelswarm Cell this card is the best choice for that position. It gives you a major field advantage if used properly. Besides that, he's a 1700 DARK; which isn't exactly weak.
His summon can be negated pretty easily, or he can be overpowered by the many 1900's and rising 2000 ATK monsters in the game. Other than that, he's pretty solid!
The Caller is really easy to come by, being a super rare in the Hidden Arsenal 5 pack. Although he should definitely be a secret rare, I'm not going to complain! It's a lot easier to get 3 super rares (which is a necessity) from Hidden Arsenal for a deck than 3 secret rares!
Artwork and aesthetics:
Unfortunately, the Caller is an ugly bug. I've always hated bugs, but the fact that he's completely black with orange wings; it kinda makes the bug-thought disappear. He's not the coolest looking card, but it's not the ugliest thing to stare at either.
Overall, I give this card a 9/10. If it weren't as easy to overpower or negate the summon, he'd be a solid 10. But having this card can give you instant field advantage, which is not something to be taken lightly.
