Think it like this. all perfect guards are grade 1's which means their usual shield should be 5k. You can disgard any card which means those draw tirggers which are 5k shields eventhough being grade 0 and having low boost power or you can use a grade 3 eventhough it doesn't have a shield.
With two cards from hand maximum shield you can put is 20k with two non-draw grade 0 what if your opponent packs more than this? or what if it is close to this and your opponent is attacking with a grade 3 vanguard and would have a potential of +10k?
Also perfect guard term is not written on card itself it is more like how players (or how in anime or manga in this situation) would like to call it, much like superior ride superior call etc etc.
