Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom is the first crossride card of aqua force. This card makes every player weary of how they defend even when the owner hasn't ride it yet. Like all crossriders, 13k is a very dangerous number. If you think a 13k body isn't enough, enter Glory Maelstrom Limit Break, When this unit attacks a vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, this unit gets [Power]+5000, and your opponent cannot normal call grade 1 or greater units to (GC) until end of that battle. This limit break is very dangerous since guarding a 18k attack (without boost) to 28k attack (boosted by dorothea) will be very difficult to guard with only grade 0 at end game. So opponent of this card must be weary on how and when they use their grade 0 to guard with. A very impressive ability for a low cost, but a high restriction.
Glory Maelstrom eschews the recent inclusion of more than 4 Critical Triggers by providing a new taste of a Stand-based deck. Imagine having to defends attacks that can basically wipe your hand or board or both in one turn.
Normally riding a crossride early is good especially with the 13k defense however with glory maelstrom, you want to make sure that it will be the FINAL TURN! because the limit break of blue storm dragon, maelstrom is very useful in mid game. Waiting for the 5th damage on your opponent then riding this card is the best way to use this card at this card ultimate break make sure that no perfect guard will come making it very hard to defend.
Strategies and game play:
Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom must still attack last. Even though his ultimate break doesn't require a number of attack, erasing the interceptor with your rearguard and grade 0 of your opponent will make sure that his ultimate break will make it the final turn.
Having stand triggers and critical triggers with glory maelstrom will make the deck you build very very scary as the opponent will not know how to defend against so many attacks making his hand scarce along with his rearguards being put to the drop zone all in one turn.
Combos with other cards:
You can play this card a lot of ways but i still think that the best support for this card is dorothea and blue storm dragon, maelstrom. Dorothea will boost him for 10k and blue storm maelstrom is a 11k vanilla rearguard that can attack any interceptor with ease.
Ways to counteract it:
Although Blue Storm Supreme Dragon, Glory Maelstrom has (in my opinion) the best ultimate break it is still not unstoppable. You can use special interceptor for a 10k guard that's one way to defend against him. Also if you know that glory maelstrom is coming keeping the opponent at 4 damage until you get the cards you want is another way in stopping his limit break. fast game deck such as 12crit deck can really hurt a glory maelstrom build deck since the will usually no guard to accept damage and with one or two critical trigger appearing will make them unable to play the card right.
-13k base power if blue storm dragon, maelstrom is in the soul
-best ultimate break
-low cost high tech skill
-11k base power if normal ridden (yes its a strength since 11k is still a very good power)
-can attack whenever and still use his limit break
-needs 5 damage to activate its limit break
-no use as a rearguard
-cant be in a hybrid deck
Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork emphasize on being scary and it gives it justice since this unit has the scariest limit break ever.
10/10 it is the best crossride as of now however too many of this card in one deck isnt necessary.
