Please welcome the Hero of blue attribute, appearing in BS15,it is The IronHero Saigord-Golem.It has a summoning cost of 8 but with 4 blue reduction,it can be summoned easily when you play it correctly. If you still think summoning Saigord-Golem is hard, fret not as Saigord-Golem is also a Burst card, meaning you can summon him at no cost when you fulfilled its summoning criteria listed on the card. With so many incentives to summon Saigord-Golem,it is a great card to put in your blue demolish deck.At level 1,it has a measly 5000BP but at level 2,the BP is doubled to 10000BP which is somewhat powerful.Sadly,at level 3,it only has 13000BP which is pitiful for the number of cores needed to level it up from level 2 to 3. Nonetheless,it is still a powerhouse when you managed to summon it early.
The main use of this card is to deck your opponent out with its Great Demolish effect.Great Demolish is a rare but awesome effect as it sends 5 cards from the opponent's deck to the drop zone per level so at level 3,that would be 15 cards which is so much better than Demolish which can only send 1 card per level. That's not all,if a Burst card is discarded this way,you can choose an opposing spirit and destroy it which is very nice. Also, when it is set as a burst,it can still mill your opponent's deck when your opponent activates a 'When summoned' effect, thus making it useful even if you do not manage to summon it.
Strategies and game play:
The strategy of using this card is to send all cards from the opponent's deck to the drop zone as quick as possible. Thus, this card should be played with other cards that have the effect 'Demolish' so that the process of milling is maximized. Some examples are Tower-Golem,The BalanceDeity Libra-Golem and Tsundog-Golem.With the introduction of Charge in BS19 which increases the number of cards milled by 1,I would recommend putting some spirits with blue Charge into the deck to further improve the milling capability of Saigord-Golem.Some blue spirits with Charge are The Warrior of Light Gaius,The Fighter of Light Randall and The BattleRadiantGod Soldnerg.
Combos with other cards:
There are many cards that can combo well with this card and below are 2 cards that I think is the most suitable for comboing with this card. The first card is Burst Fist, which is a Burst card with the effect of discarding cards from the top of your opponent's deck equal to the cost of the spirit destroyed by your opponent when this burst is activated which helps with the main strategy of milling cards from opponent's deck, however the best part of this card is not the burst effect but the flash effect will allows the user to refresh one of their spirit and raise its level by 1 until the end of the turn. This means that Saigord-Golem can attack once more and activate its Great Demolish again, thus milling around half of the opponent's deck. The second card is The BlueWaterGreatSword Maelstrom which has Charge and Assault when braved to Saigord-Golem,allowing Saigord-Golem to refresh by exhausting 1 nexus and increasing the number cards discarded from 15 to 16 per attack at level 3 which is significant since you will most likely to be attacking twice and the more cards are discarded from your opponent's deck, the faster the opponent will deck out.
Ways to counteract it:
There are two effective ways to counter Saigord-Golem.First way is to seal Great Demolish by disallowing cards to be sent from the deck to drop zone.A few examples of cards with such effects are Divine Field and Dead End Field which are both magic cards that stay on the field after activation. Also, nexuses such as The Candle Tower of Life and The Inviolable Sanctuary can also restrict Great Demolish. The second way is to stop Saigord-Golem from attacking which can be done with any spirits with higher BP than Saigord-Golem which is quite easy nowadays using brave spirits.
Great Demolish allows 5 cards to be discarded per level.
It is a burst card so summoning it can be easy despite having a high cost.
Low BP compared to spirits with same cost.
Too many cores needed to level up this spirit.
Artwork and aesthetics:
I would give 7.5 for artwork as it is cool in a sense that it depicts a giant golem towering over the ground and smashing the ground with its fist, symbolizing its Great Demolish effect. However, the feet area of this card is somewhat obscured so it does not give me a wholesome feeling, making it less appealing.
8/10.With such awesome effect and cool artwork,it is hard to give a high score for this card.
