CONT](VC):Your units cannot boost this unit.
[CONT](VC)uring your turn, this unit gets [Power]+2000 for each of your «Shadow Paladin» rear-guards.
[AUTO]:[Soul Blast (3)] When this unit is placed on (VC), you may pay the cost. If you do, choose up to two of your «Shadow Paladin» rear-guards in your front row, and those units get [Power]+5000 until end of turn.
Its ability allows any players to considerably boost their front row, and doesn't need a card behind it to boost in order to reach 18K, enough to force a large guard out of an opponent even if they've cross-ridden( and are on 13K).
Strategies and game play:
This card (like Raging form dragon or Diarmuid) gains enormous power when break riding on Mordred Phantom. However, its ability of soul-blasting to boost can be used even after the break ride, so there will be at least 1 unit on the front row.
Like all others, it can be searched with dark goat. However, even if dark goat is not used, if it is behind The Dark Dictator it will still give the 2K boost when The Dark dictator attacks.
It requires no Counterblast/limit break so can be used in combination with Blaster Dark Revenger-Claudas
Or with Dark Cloak Revenger Tartu
(especially if break riding and then calling Tartu from the deck, who in turn could call Revenger, Dark Bond Trumpeter, which puts The Dark Dictator on 16K already, with the rested Grade 0 Behind it.)
It could be used in a deck focusing more on standing and with triggers slanted towards stand triggers to stand up the boosted units.
Combos with other cards:
As mentioned earlier, it requires no Counterblast so can be used in the old blaster dark chain ride or with the newer Blaster Dark Revenger-Claudas combination.
It will also work well with A deck revolving around Tartu and Dark bond trumpeter for more rear-guards as opposed to less.
It is ok to ride after using Phantom Blaster Dragon's ability in the previous turn due to no counterblasts.
Ways to counteract it:
Using Dragonic Overlord/Kaiser Vermillion or a Megablast that retires all the opponents Rear-Guards severely cripples the Dark Dictator, whether it is on the field or planning to be ridden.
1: Doesn't require boosting
2: Can Power up the Front Row to ensure a hit if not guarded against from Rear-Guards
Goes against the general Shadow-Paladin Style of Play (less is more)
It is only available as a promotional card in English and Japanese so could be quite hard to get hold of. however, it has been released as more than one promo card in both languages
Artwork and aesthetics:
As an opposite of King of Knights Alfred, it does look like the evil counterpart. And its evil start is kind of hard to ignore
