Cyber Dragon Nova, the newest tool in a "Cyber" deck. It provides a great deal of help and two last resorts. This card is mine!
Firstly, the cost to summon it. There aren't many level 5 machine type monsters besides Cyber Dragon, are there? This makes summoning this in order to bring out Cyber Twin Dragon or Cyber End Dragon a bit tricky, however, if your only 2 materials are "Cyber Dragon," you can detach one first, then detach the other to special summon the first one detached. You need one Cyber Dragon in your graveyard first. This is no way of bringing out the big Cybers, but it is sure a way to buy time to perhaps draw cards like Monster Reborn or Call of the Haunted. There are many ways to keep your opponent in check with this card, and if you hqve three "Proto-Cyber Dragon" as well, this card will make quite a lot of trouble for your foe, you can.....
BANISH a Cyber Dragon or in any case, Proto-Cyber Dragon from your side of the field and boom. Cyber Dragon Nova now has 4200 ATK. Have equip cards to use? Even more in your favor. "United We Stand," "Mage Power," and "Fighting Spirit" are pretty much the best ones I know when it comes to raising ATK and DEF. United We Stand has the equipped monster gain 800 (so much!) attack and deffense for every other monster on your side of the field. Well heck, it's very likely that elite duelists have 2 or more cards on the field. I dub it, the "Cyber Forces." Throw 3 copies of each equip spell and your stats are ridiculous. This is a divine strategy if I do say so myself, but you do probably want to bring out those fusion monsters, right? Their effects..not only Cyber Twin and End, but Chimertach Overdragon and Fortress Dragon are indeed ideal for this type of deck.
This comes down to the third and final part of Cyber Nova Dragon's effect. Your goal is to make Cyber Nova a threat, all while keeping him safe from being destroyed by battle. May I suggest "Mist Body?" Because the 4200 attack power only lasts from Main Phase to End Phase, and you might not want to use up all of your Cybers and Proto Cybers. You must make Cyber Nova Dragon a problem for your opponent, and keep him protected. Your opponent is aware of the effect of your cards (hopefully) so just hold in and raise the threat of Nova. It seems pointless maybe, because what's the point of bringing out Twin or End when Cyber Nova is getting more dangerous? Well it's simple-TO WIN THE DUEL!
The 4 fusion monsters I've mentioned in this review, Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Twin Dragon, Chimertach Overdragon, and Chimertach Fortress Dragon all have unique effects not found on any other card separated from this group of four. All has won duels back in the GX era of tournaments.
So, above any other card in your Extra Deck, I deem this card vital to custum Cyber decks and the structure deck where it hails. It's AWESOME!!!
