Politicians+Officers=Awesome! Apollo, Political Liason is a huge part of this deck, allowing you to get more politicians along with officers! This deck allows you to both gain influence and lower your opponent's influence. |

Subject: Watch out for Martial Law! Posted: September 3, 2006 06:31 pm
If you have Apollo, Political Liaison in play and an opponent plays the Security event Martial Law ("Politicians can't defend this phase"), then all personnel who have the trait Officer will be defenseless as well as your Politicians. 4x Executive Privilege could help protect you against this, but it won't stop an opponent from Manipulating against you.
I have considered using Apollo, Political Liaison with an Officer-heavy pure-Security deck to try a run-to-20 approach using Politician missions, but his high cost, low mystic value, and weakness to Martial Law ultimately led to his being put in my stack of "do-not-use" cards. |

Hmmmm.....good point. However, I still like to be able to treat my personell as bothe officers and politicians for missions and events. Since your opponent MIGHT NOT NESSICARILY have cards to take advantage of the fact that you have both officers and politicians, but the deck definately lets you benefit from both, I would say the good does outweigh the bad.

That's true, you can't be prepared for everything. And I haven't seen Martial Law used in the few games I've been in/watched. Just wanted to point out that could be like Kryptonite for this deck. Maybe you could cover yourself partially just by knowing that - for example, be as aggressive as possible in playing Personnel-disruption cards when your opponent is using Security resources.

Test of faith, outmaneuvered, & Presidential candidate are all not worth it.
Power of Prayer is way better then Presidential candidate and outmaneuvered. And like Dare said Run 3 or 4 Executive Privilege instead of Test of faith. Trust me it will save you a lot more then 1 heal! Plus it allows you to attack all out, have them take damage and then you site back and do nothing. Your running 8 Dr. Baltars...I think I understand why but that’s a big problem with uniqueness rules. I donno about running a 5 coast unit in a dual resource deck. Maybe find a replacement for the William Adam. Also you should shave 2 cards off the Persuasion side because you NEVER want to be over 60 cards. Ever card you go over 60 is one more card away from the cards you really need. Sorth |
