I know that many duelists have the opinion that cruel naga is the worst avatar. I would say more like that cruel naga is the most diffucult avatar to play properly. I find him difficult to use too but he looks cool and stuff so i gave him a chance
Ive been working on this deck for a while and here is the result. The idea is to use cruel naga's destruction-ability to destroy the opponents creatures by sending it back into our hand. That makes a lot of the water removal spells useful. Cloned Spiral can even send more than one creature back which means that it is actually possible to send our valueable creatures in the battle zone (including the naga) back and destroy all the opponents creatures. Attacking the opponent with the naga should be done most carefully because the opponent can use naga's destruction ablilty in his favour too. In such cases it can be important only to have the naga and maybe a few creatures in the battle zone, securing our other creatures from being destroyed (keeping them in our hand and summoning usefull spells instead). The bad thing about bashing shields with the naga is, that ur opponent can clean the field with just any single removal trigger. But u can evolve for a final attack if all shields are gone ofc If you are using the naga to attack the opponent you should not have too many valueable other creatures in the battle zone, maybe a blocker or 2 for defensive reasons. If your opponent have a field that he wants to keep, he might not remove the naga until he is forced to do it because of missing shields.
A nice combo against massive field control is removing naga with spiral gate, followed by balza (which was probably used as bait aswell), getting hand control. Evolving should be done thoughtfully as u can actually save the creatures u evolve from when removing the naga later - balza should allways be a good option, the merfolks depending on a situational condition.

The cloned spells fit with very well together with Wily Carpenter and Typhoon which also work as draw power in the deck together with Kelp Candle. The chimeras (especially gigazald) in the deck give great hand control. Pierr, Gigaslug and Kelp Candle fit eachother nicely in defensive aspects of the game.

Frantic is considered almost too situational for this deck as i see it especially because i havent considered rayze to be of much use in this deck, since he only works with kelp (we dont wanna recycle carpenter or wizard, melodic is for late game or bait, doesnt die early). But he should fit well with balza at least so now im trying out 1 of him and evaluating later (i can substitute with scout, doesnt make much of a change).

As for gigamente he seems pretty hard to play, but he actually got 3k, can attack things or a shield if nesesarry, and he combos insanely with gigazald - that was one of the main reasons for the addition actually. Tanza is awesome when having control - revival is highly preferred in a control 40 cards deck where steams and other water support can deck u out easily. Gigandura fits especially against antidiscard, hes nicely tested aswell.
Wizard combos well with zald (if hes on field u can get a card for free because the discarding advantage), melodic is a nice blocker, added for the cost balance it provides to the deck too.
Upheaval depends pretty much on a situational condition, but this deck have some problems with keeping control when taking it early on... topdecking is not that underrated, because 5 turns with topdeck can mess things up if the opponent got a lot of removal cards. In that case if u have about 2 or 3 guys which can attack on the field and the opponent got no hand or a proper field either upheaval creates a great rush possibility - triggers might not be as effective when not being able to move in other ways for 3 or 4 turns.

I know that this deck might seem very difficult to play with but i actually think that this is the way to maximize the naga's potential. After even more testing it might turn into a very strong deck and thats why I need u guys

Changelog: -1 Naga, -2 Scouts, -1 Carpenter, -2 Serums, -2 Mongrel, -1 Gigandura, -3 Squitos, - 1 Carnival, +2 Typhoons, +1 Wizard, +1 Hunter, +1 Gigamente, +1 Tanza,+2 Pierrs, +1 Zald, +1 Frantic, +1 Slug, +1 Memory, +1 Upheaval

NO I AM NOT BOASTING MYSELF BUT, I am a vortex evolution expert, and I suggest that chage this deck to either Wise Starnoid's or Aura Pegasus, because Cruel Naga is the worst avatar.

Well Cruel Naga might not be the best vortex evo but its still awesome. And i actually built a deck that supports its effects pretty well.

regardless of the theme of the deck, those "cloned" spells are just bad

good old cranium clamp is still better than cloned nightmare, takes too much time to setup a 3 card+ clone

Trust me in late game nightmare can be much better than clamp if u have played ur cards well. The idea is to discard one or two clones in the beginning and thereby making the other clones better later in the game. Wily Carpenter should be used for this. I agree that clamp is very good but those clones just fit well with Carpenter which is need as bait for the deck too
