General description:
I love this card. It's artwork is amazing , and its effect is pretty killer too. It alos appered in the Anime when bastian used it to destroy Chazz and win the duel. It was also used against Jaden in the Duel to see who would duel in the school duel.

Uses:
It fits well in a Water Deck, but it would be best to build a deck around it.
Get's rid of any Fire or Pyro Monster easily now

Strategies and game play:
It's most obvious use would be to Use it against your opponents Fire Decks. If you're opponent doesn't run a Fire Deck, you could still use DNA Surgery to turn everything into a Pyro type, even though it would affect your monster's also. Summon an Elemental Hero Wildheart, Which I also reviewed(link text ) after DNA Surgery and equip it with Ring of Magnetism, so all your opponents monsters become 0 and you can just wail on them with Wildheart.

Combos with other cards:
See Strategies

Ways to counteract it:
Magic Jammer, Magic Drain, Bottomless Trap Hole, anything to stop it's summon or the Spell card used to summon him

Strengths/Pros:
Nice attack and effect
Can destroy any Fire Deck
Get three free monsters when he's destroyed in either ATK or Def position
Can be summoned from the Graveyard with Bonding-H2O

Weaknesses/Cons:
Affected by effects, traps and magic, and 2800 non-fire monsters destroy it
You need to have The Oxygeddon and Hydrogeddon's on the field along with Bonding H2O in your hand,
Not very effective if opponent doesn't run Fire Deck

Variations:
EEN Ultimate and Super rare

Artwork and aesthetics:
I love the artwork. he looks like a Dragon made from Water. And we all know water extinguishes Fire, so his effect fits

Overall rating:
In a deck built around it 9/10
Against a Fire or Pyro Deck 10/10
Anything else 6/10

Although this monster won't see a lot of mainstream action, there seems to be a huge facination over it. It's greatest potential is in it's own deck, as Zero said, however... A deck based around it has, "DNA Surgery" and "DNA Transplant". Don't forget, both of these cards Effect the WHOLE field, including the beloved, "Water Dragon". "Ok, now I'll use my Water Dragon to strike your Dark Ruler Ha Des, and since DNA Surgery is on the field, he is turned to a Pyro-Type. Oh wait.. So is Water Dragon. This is a double K.O." However, doing so... This will trigger it's second effect, of Special Summoning it's pseudo origin element monsters, back to the field. I think this was the whole reason for making water dragon, who knows... All I know, is it's only good potential is against a Fire/Pyro deck, but don't get too happy. As I said before, this will never hit mainstream, for hardly anyone plays with Fire/Pyro decks, that are ranked. I'd love to see an interesting deck made, That can actually put a hurting on any old deck. Any takers?

One last thing.... I must agree. The artwork is amazing, and is the reason I'd like to get my hands on an Ultimate-Rare version of this card.

the best way to deal with the Water Dragon + DNA Transplant/Surgery combo is to just keep it in defense mode, since Water Dragon's effect only affects the attack and not the defense rating. Being at 2600 defense is incredibly strong and will make a great wall since the only thing that could raise the opponent's attack power will either be an equipped Wildheart, Jinzo, Royal Decree, or any card that can destroy or otherwise remove trap cards. If Water Dragon gets destroyed, you get an instant 3 monsters on the field to make up for the opponent's increase in attack.

Overall, good review, but you could've gone a bit more in depth with how to properly play Water Dragon.

Also, Final Attack Orders would work best with your Wildheart combo mentioned earlier...Ring of Magnetism is just begging for your opponent to summon their own Wildheart to beat yours. Heart of Clear Water on Water Dragon is a better choice.
