Prime Material Dragon
-two for the price of one

General description:

Prime Material Dragon, in my opinion, is one of the very best cards in the game today. It made its debut in the Phamtom Darkness booster pack, leaving many to wonder "why is this thing only a super rare". The ability to render burn decks useless and slow down a huge amount of destruction decks seems to good to be true. and to top it off he's a 1 tribute, 2400 atk,2000 def beatstick. Prime Material Dragon is by far the best dragon to date and one of the most useful monsters in todays meta. If you've ever had to face one you know how annoying they are, and if you've ever gotten the chance to use one you know how fun they are, so lets review.

Uses:

Prime Material Dragon has multiple uses. for one the 2400 atk beastick with a backing 2000 def. If you run a dragon deck like i do, then this thing is the holy grail of the deck. There are almost no consequences for having him, exept for the fact he's a tribute. his effect lets you for 1) negate burn damage and reverse it to life point gaining and 2nd) being able to discard a card to negate a card that has the effect of destroying monsters, and destroy that card. ok, negate burn damage and increase your life points by that amount, there goes cards like Magic cylinder, Wave motion cannon, Volcanic cards,Ect. and the second effect, discard a card to negate a card that destroys monsters an destroy it, so lets see there goes Torrential Tribute, Sakaretsu Armor, Mirror Force, Ect. so its practicaly a miracle

Strategies & Gameplay:

Well, for starters feeling safe as long as you have cards to spare. But the most fun combo with this card is facing yubel decks. when you attack yubel (any of them), youir monsters attack is subracted from your life points. huh, well remember Primes 1st effect. So he has a yubel in attack position, well keep attacking it, 2400 life points a turn, or more if you have multiple prime materials on the field. But wait theres more, do you know what yubel2 and yubel3's effects are, they include destroying a monster. lets just say prime material dtragon not only ruins burn decks but yubel as well. Other combos include, what is this, negating ur own cards? why not, if your premature burial or future fusion gets dedtroyed while on something, simply discard to negate the destroying effect and keep ur monster, its Incredible!

Combos with this card:

Well i cant really tell you many combos with this card, its just really useful. getting rid of yubels and burn decks are one of the many advantages to this card. so for the combos, you'll have to figure out that.

Ways to counteract it:

Sadly, there are ways to stop this mighty beast. One of the few things that stop him dead in his tracks are cards that remove from play, sorry can't negate everything. Dimmensional prison and d.d cards are this guys worst enemy. also cards that return him to ur hand or deck also pose a threat to the dragon. cards like Raiza and phoenix wing wind blast can grab him and throw him back to where he came from. all i can say is make use a him while you can, and stay clear of these kinds of cards if possible.

Strengths & Pros:

Well as i've mentioned, immunity to burn and yubel decks make him a must have or side deck card. there are many strengths to him, most notibly able to withstand cards like mirror force, snipe hunter, lightning vortex, and dark armed dragon. So why not run a prime material or 2, cause i run 3

Weaknesses & Cons:

Not much weaknesses to this bad boy, aside from removing and returning cards. The only other major weakness that comes to mind is that he IS a tribute monster, and being able to keep monsters on the field now-a-days is tough. but if you can manage to do it, your opponent will have a run for his or her money
Variations:

The only version of this card as of right now is super rare. though with its growing popularity it might be in next years tins, or mabye even in hobby league version if we're lucky

Artwork and Aesthetics:

Actually despite all of its power, they could have made him look a lot better. to me he looks
like a big banana peel. but when your beating ur opponents face in, there not gonna be worried about how it looks, are they?

Overall rating:

10 in dragon decks, best card in a deck based around dragons, hands down. only thing that even gets close to it in a dragon deck is dragons mirror

10 in decks that can get him out easy. i mean come on, try to name a card that is as useful as him, no offense to caius or stuff like that

other than that i cant think of ny deck besides a burn deck that he would be bad in, i'm open to suggestions and if you can tell me something good i'll put it in
