General description:
Trident of Naraku's Bones is a very useful item card that provides both stat bonuses and the unusual ability to have the character it is attached to attack a player directly.
Uses:
Use this card by attaching it to a character card you control.
Strategies and game play:
The best strategy would be to attach this card to a character with regeneration. This is a great way to make sure you can attack your opponent directly round after round of play.
Combos with other cards:
If you use this to attack your opponent directly, there isn't much need to combo it with other cards since you can't lose and will get a shard.
Ways to counteract it:
There isn't much that can be done to counteract this card since it allows a player to attack his/her opponent directly, even if there are other character cards out on the field.
Strengths/Pros:
This card allows the character to which it is attached to attack a player directly, meaning you automatically gain a shard. And, as long as the card is attached to an active (non-defeated) character, you can attack your opponent directly every round of battle. Also, the +2 bonus to all colors can boost low stats to average stats and average stats to great levels. Best of all, with a deck cost of 2, it doesn't cost much to put it into play.
Weaknesses/Cons:
There aren't many disadvantages to this card. Unless there is an event or item card that specifically prevents attacking a player directly (which I don't think there is), your opponent can't prevent you from stealing a shard. The only real disadvantage is if the character it is attached to is defeated/killed.
Variations:
I'm not aware of any variations to this card.
Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork isn't anything special, although the trident being carried by one of Naraku's poison insects does represent the card well.
Overall rating:
Overall, I give this card a 9.
