Kunihisa

Card text:

Land of Fire | Male | Celebrity | Mental Power: -1
[CELEBRITY NINJUTSU]
During the Mission Phase, if you have 6 or more cards in your hand, you can discard 2 cards from your hand. In that case, move 1 of your opponent's in-play Ninjas with an Entrance cost of 2 or less to your Village. At the end of that turn, if that Ninja still remains in play, it is moved to your opponent's Village.

"I can handle this with my Jutsu!"

General description:
Ok, most people think this card is bad because they don't realise something, it's effect can be used during your opponent's mission phase as well as your own. This allows for a few extra evil uses of this card.

Uses:
Amazingly, since this card requires you have 6 cards in your hand it is most useful if you go second. Why you ask? Thats easy, since the first player doesn't draw a card, once you play Kunihisa you won't have the 6 cards in your hand needed to use the effect if you need to.

Strategies and game play:
The obvious Strategy with this card is to go second, play it, discard 2 cards and swing for 2 easy battle rewards. This ability made Kunihisa very popular in sealed events since the discarded cards needent be of any particular type. However you can also use the effect on your opponent's turn, why would you do this you ask? Heres the trick, when your opponent puts a Ninja in-play with an ability that activates when put in play (Such as Naruto [Legacy of the Fourth Hokage] or Temari [Wind Scythe]) it's effect goes onto a chain. You can then activate Kinihisa's ability in response to that ninja being put in play. Kunihisa's effect then resolves first and you take there Ninja. Then the ninja's put in play effect activates and resolves from the view of it's current controler. What this means is that you steal your opponet's 1 time effects and really annoy them.

Combos with other cards:
Great Cards to use his effect on include, but are not limited to:
Temari [Wind Scythe]
Naruto [Legacy of the Fourth Hokage]
Konohamaru [Outcome of the Training]
Nawaki [12th Birthday]

All these cards have put in play effects your opponent won't want to give you.

Ways to counteract it:
There are few things that can actually stop it's effect, Having Temptation inplay negates his effect. Hand Control cards such as Byakugan also can keep your opponent from having the needed 6 cards in their hand.

Strengths/Pros:
Able to steal opponent's Ninjas for quick Battle Rewards
or to take your opponent's 1 time ninja effects.

Weaknesses/Cons:
Stats of 0/0 0/0 and -1 mental power make it useless in combat
Requiring 6 cards in your hand makes it only useable early on
Can only affect Ninjas with a Turn cost of 2 or less
Discarding 2 cards from your hand is a high cost

Variations:
Kunihisa is available as a common and an alternate foil.

Artwork and aesthetics:
Kunihisa is a brat and this card image captures that well, it would of been better had he been holding/throwing money.

Overall rating:
In Sealed Format I give it a 7 out of 10
In Constructed Format I give it a 5 out of 10 since it is only really useful when going second.

i never really thought about him but he gives openings for some really effective combos use it with wonderful days for example (take their female ninja that they might have only one of) or you can use it against certain early game base decks. plus haku futaba makes using him easy to use more then once and even in late game thanks for the ideas XD
