Personal Words
First off, if anyone knows me well enough they'll know how surprisingly close I am to making specific references to specific things, and that I am one of the few players that actually use Reptiles LOVINGLY, anyway that isn't the point and while this will be something of a biased review don't be deterred by it, the effect is great and the rewards are equally as good when it comes to this card, sure it needs tributes but then again, what monsters can't be special summoned by their own effects nowadays? Anyway onto the review....
The Fourth Planet Revealed
As the fourth monster of GX manga's Planet series of monsters(expect me to review the other 3 sooner or later...or if I want too) it certainly lives up the name, its element certainly corresponds with it, as such, it's obviously a giant well armored reptilian type monster whose face is concealed with only its glowing eyes and its wicked red grin, its scythe is an oddly shaped thing, the blade aiming a bit lower than usual. Also something that should probably be noted is that its aura is something that while a few reptiles have had(Ananta, the Venom bosses....that little snake thing to whose name i do not remember) though it is something that WATER monsters generally don't tend to have that kind of wicked, evil, demonic aura, which mostly all DARK, evil monsters generally tend to have...
The Beast Awakens
The tyrant NEPTUNE is a level 10 WATER Reptile-type monster with zero attack and defense, surprisingly this means that it has a few good support cards with including the upcoming Eel of Greed, (yes I'm starting from the water part) along with Salvage. being level ten doesn't mean much when you honestly think about it, at most all this means that you can't use it with Trade-In, not that you need to anyway. being a reptile means that it can be dumped by Snake Rain, when it's destroyed you can use Snake Whistle to summon a new reptile with this including Damage=Reptile for the same purpose, and finally it gets Molting Escape which allows it to escape from battle destruction. finally having zero attack and defense points means that it can be searched with Sangan, retrieved by Salvage along with a few other cards to which I do not remember...
Its Power Grows!
NEPTUNES effect, to begin with cannot be Special Summoned but honestly, what is the point of special summoning a monster that requires tributes to have its effect be used in full. Next up is that it can be summoned with one tribute, rather than the traditional 2 tributes, which is nifty but the real effect comes to this now. Similarly to King Mist, it gains the attack and defense of the monsters used to summon the bloody thing and in combination with the one tribute(which would be kinda pointless to be honest but i see the point) and last but not least, it gains the effect of ONE of the tributed monsters effect along with being treated as the same monster, now, this in itself is a great effect beecause it means that you can reuse an effect from a monster whose effect can only be used once per turn, or an effect that just seem fun to abuse (Masked Chopper comes to mind) but honestly the possibilities are endless when it comes to this card.
