Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World

Card text:

You can Special Summon this card (from your Graveyard) by returning 1 face-up "Dark World" monster you control to the hand, except "Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World". If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target, then, if this card was discarded from your hand to your Graveyard by an opponent's card effect, look at 1 random card in your opponent's hand, then, if it was a monster, you can Special Summon it to your side of the field.

The Dragon That Never Loses Hope!

General description:
First off lets look at some of his basic characteristics. Grapha is a solid level 8 monster scoring a 2700 ATK and a not so bad 1800 DEF. He is a fiend type with a dark attribute, which suits up perfectly for any dark world deck.

Now, this i why I think that this card is truly the best card for any dark world or hand manipulation type of deck. He may be a pain to tribute summon for, so why not toss him in the grave? When he is discarded to the grave by a card effect (lets say dark world dealings),

you can destroy one card on your opponents field. that effect alone makes it one of the best dark world monsters there is. Now, he also has a bonus. If he was discarded by his opponent's card effect, you can peek at one card in your opponent's hand, and if that card is a monter, you can take control of it.

Let's touch on why this dragon was worthy of getting a review. It's the first part of his effect that makes him live up to the name "lord". By returning a dark world monster on the field to your hand, HE CAN BE SPECIAL SUMMONED FROM THE GRAVE!. That's 2700 attack coming out of nowhere. He can really never be destroyed with this effect, he'll just come and go. I'd say one of the only ways to stop this guy is to D.D. Crow him.

Strategies and game play:
for best results, run at least 2 of these, because theres a chance you can have them both in your grave, and use Beiige (easy bait) to easily set up a huge level 8 xyz summon.

If your main focus is to get this guy on the playing field, I'd add in a foolish burial for a chance to get him out early in the game.

Ways to counteract it:
Like I mentioned before, the only way to get rid of this beastly monster is to remove him from play or put him back in the deck.

As for cons, I know of none, other than his high level may not be suited for synchro summons. And, his semi-low defense may cause a few problems for common battle position changing cards.

Overall rating:
I give this card a 10/10. I don't rate much cards this high, but I mean with his low costs and amazing side effects, we'll be lucky if this guy doesn't hit the ban list soon.

Thanks for reading! This is my first card review. Please rate and comment if you would like more.

I love Grapha. I have played with him, and against him. So from my experience, this guy is really hard to get rid of when he is on the field. Combined with his spell card he becomes a 3000 atk powerhouse.
