Soul Savior Dragon-Not commonly used but strong

General description: To me, Soul Savior is one of the best royal pally cards that have been made, since its ablilties are pretty cool.(For convenience, let's just call him SSD.) It is mostly unused in decks since people think that Majesty Lord Blaster and stuff like that are way better, but SSD's still pretty awesome.

Its soul blast ability is nice, it adds 5k to 3 royal pally rearguards until the end of the turn and when it attacks a vg it can get an extra 3k.

Strategies and game play:
discuss the strategies this card could be a part of and how it affects game play in general (especially if it's a new card)

Combos with other cards: Get 3 damage, call High Dog Breeder Akane, use its ability, call out Pongal from the deck, use Pongal's ability and search out SSD. You can ride it next turn.

Ways to counteract it: Um, counteract isn't the right word, the only way to survive is to use perfect guards and hope for the best, especially when the soul blast is active. Also hit fast and hard after the soul blast effect wears off.

Strengths/Pros: If you use the soul blast ability and add 5k to the rearguard behind SSD, SSD can easily get to 26k already, not counting the Twin Drive check.

Weaknesses/Cons: Not cool part: Soul Savior is useless as a Vanguard, and its best ability only works once(the soul blast).

Variations: There is a RRR and SP style for Onslaught of Dragon Souls.

Artwork and aesthetics: The art is nice, with the holographic effect and all.

Overall rating: I'd give SSD a rating of 8, I guess, considering that there are a couple of cons with it.

True that not people use this card, because they think majesty lord blaster is better, but also because its so expensive to buy just one. I would prefer to have this over Majesty lord blaster any time and if anyone has one to trade i would be really happy

Actually SSD is useless as a rearguard not as vanguard because his +3k against vanguard only works when SSD is vanguard.

I agree. Plus, after Barcgal got banned it's not so easy to pump up your soul to 5 when you ride him. Rememember he can only use his soul blast when he rides not in the main phase meaning you can't call out units before using his skill.

Margal can help to boost your soul during the last turn, and when Margal's ability is used, Young Pegasus Knight and Great Sage Barron can gain power boosts.

Whoops, sorry, it's a typo error. SSD is useless as a Rearguard, not Vanguard. Guess I was distracted while I was writing the review. Thanks for bringing it up, though!

I like to add that the new Jewel Knights will bring some life into this card once again... Especially with the new Break Ride unit...
