I was not impressed by this, it is a very pricy money deck, with a lot of money cards/great combo cards..however, you do not run the elf combos that kill... like, you have no wellwisher, priest of titania, 1/1 elf trampler on the grounds, no untap effects for elves like wellwish, priest of titania, etc... I have a red/blade modern that is about a 30 dollar control deck that would easily stomp this deck... Just cuz you have some of the rarest/most pricy cards in mtg (land wise), it does not mean that you combined it well enough with power combos... I am not trying ot be mean, just I do not like it, I think it is weak. It lacks the quick power, speed and overpower required for modern tournaments...plus, it needs the elf untap land, and anticounter spell elf (id recommend at least 2 of the anti counter elves).

Oh, and just so you know, I not just spouting random bs... I have played elf combo many times over the years, I have played since Saga block and Tempest block til now....non stop. I have got to over 3k health with elves with 60 cards...it is not hard to do. It is far too easy for combo. And another elf combo is blue/green...infinite 7/7 tramplers with haste, using endless tapping elves... now THAT is elf combo in 60 modern mtg. I would make a good elf deck but a lot of the cards I would require are a bit...shall we say...difficult to find. Such as the Priest of Titania (very high demand, very high price, hard to trade for and/or find for that matter--it is Ursa's Saga broken after all LOL), the timberwatch elves, the elf uncommon untap a target elf land (requires 4 of them), and the wellwishers, which are broken enough in every single MTG players eyes I have ever talked to or with.

In short, while I think the lands help, id recommend comboing it correct for modern if you can.... I might not be right about Priest of Titania being allowed/legal in modern but you can still use similar effects to get same result. I would like to amend Uncle Ben's statement from Spider man to...."With great combos, comes great power." If you ever want to enter a modern tourney or tourney of MTG at all, it is about two basic concepts: speed and power. All about that, if you do not have it, then you are doomed to lose. Period.

Sorry to say, but based on what I know about MTG, EDH commander, and multiple MTG formats, this deck has not enough focus. Focus is the key to any amazing MTG deck/deck of any game.

Subject: this isn't a modern deck   Posted: April 25, 2015 01:25 pm

First off, I'm not sure why you're comparing my deck to Modern; this is a Legacy deck. I've done extensive research on Legacy Elves, and none of the lists that I've seen run Priest of Titania or Wellwisher. They're too slow and they don't complement the deck. Also, not many Elf decks run blue. There's really no point, it just slows the deck down. Also, a gaining 3k life might sound impressive, but it's a waste of time in Legacy. The point of this deck is to play lots of creatures really fast, draw a lot of cards, and slam down a Craterhoof Behemoth for the win. It wins turn two and I'm really happy with it. So do more research before you give someone a crappy rating and comment nonsense on their deck.
